Circular breathing: Breathe in for 4 seconds / hold it for 4 seconds/ exhale for 4 secs. Enhancer: Pretend to breathe in and exhale through your heart. 

Only way to get more mindful is to do some self meditation. You have to work on it. You have countless tools online to help you with that. I can recommend you do a search on youtube and start training.
