I've had enough worrying crying etc..

Pete sorry to hear about what your going through.

I would suggest not taking your cards out when you do go out and just enough cash for a night out.

Gambling takes so much from us but you can get your life together one day at a time.

Have you attended a GA meeting or spoken to a counciller it may help you get you back in a better mindset.

Morning,

A difficult situation as i was also addicted to the FOBT in bookies and pubs.

The only solutions for me were not to carry any cash or cards and if i did only visiting pubs with no fruit machines.

Even now when out i will sit as far away from the machines as possible. Difficult to watch people stuffing 20's in  for a ton jackpot.

Best

Hi Pete,

Sorry about the relapse & what youre going through. Its done now and the moneys gone all you can do is pick yourself up and try again. Next time you have a strong urge to gamble who knows you might be able to use this in a positive way. Just think about how youre feeling right now and remember it next time the urges come. Look forward to hearing from you on chatline. Dont give up.

Stay Strong

Hi Pete,

Just wondering how you are after your recent relapse. Dont be too hard on yourself as self hatred only ever hindered my recovery & made things worse. Use the netline if you need to talk to someone, and please use the support available on here.

Stay Strong

Hi Peter,

Good suggestions about not taking cards or excess money out.

However alcohol & gambling is a pretty bad mix and even if you don't have cash to gamble, its easy to be drawn to watching someone else playing which in itself is a slippery slope

One of the flip sides of pub closures is the number of new licensed premises that open (bars, micro pubs etc).

All of which never seem to have bandits (at least in my city).
