Been a good day so far. Still regrets from yesterday but have to look forward. Used the group chat and got some good advice. Would anyone know how to get excluded from bookmakers in Northern Ireland. Was hoping to do it over the phone as do not want to go in again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everyone trying to beat this.

Hi John1243.

I would suggest that you make it a day of real pride and at least go into the local ones and tell them you dont want to gamble any more and you dont want to feel welcome.

Yes you can use the multi operator number and the shops will suggest this.

However i still think you should fill out a form in your usual dens and hand them a passport photo.

Then you have to work through whether you are likely to try and break exclusions or try and sneak in .

I found it drew a line under the matter for me and I didnt go where I had excluded from and did not feel welcome

I will tell you John1234 that it really niggles me that they are actually pushers of gambling or drug pushers as I call them. Its not all our fault and we should feel no shame when excluding. I felt very proud on the day that I did it.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum

Yeah I think you might be right. Might even get someone to come with me for the support. I've been at this too long always say I'm going to do it have a few good weeks then the urge comes back and I'm straight back in. I'll do this today and hopefully have a good day. Thanks for the help

Great I hope you will and taking someone with you is a good idea.

I felt genuinely alive the day I did it. Like I had woken up from a nightmare. The £5 for the photographs was the best £5 I have ever spent!

This was before the one number self exclusion but I knew I had to get round there and Im still self excluded five years later because I renew my blocks

The door must never feel open to those places. They can keep their dens of iniquity...horrible places!

The thousands of pounds I used to throw away is in my bank account. ready to spend carefully on nice things. My life is so much better. If I can just get through to one gambler on a basic level....I have money now for a rainy day

I think the most important thing is I have my dignity and self respect back. Its more important than what I earn because whatever life throws at me I have a level of control and a peace of mind to deal with it

Best wishes
