Dont get hung up on the days, I get you, but  go 200 more days free and there's no damage done.

We all will have temptations and relapses in truth , its how you react and go a long time again.

Good luck my friend.dont dwell

You used to be a gambler who threw away his cash

Friends they said "calm down dear boy and don't do nothing rash"

Perhaps you could go dancing to Salsa beats or Jive

Or country walks and singing can make one feel alive

But whatever you decide to do try not to frown or fret

And most of all dear Adam do not have a bet

Well im feeling a bit better today, worked 2.5 hours overtimes today so twenty pounds in the back burned next pay day.  Saw my doctor and she feels that a 5 pound game of poker shouldnt stop my day count from going up as its just five pounds entertainment , she even thouht i could continue playing as it has caused a relapse into the more destructive gambling.  With this in mind i decided toight that ill play tuesday nights.  This is my impulsive side the one that doesnt like to think too long about these things.  Now the more cautious side of me knows that i wont stop there and to be carefull.  Ill have a think over the weekend.

just been on chat and lost seemed a bit upset about how his son felt towards him due o the factt that he'd told him about his gambling as thats what gamcare said to do.  Now im a firm beleiver in being honest and not keeping secrets as thats what gambling creates (secrets) but if lost hadnt told his family they may not find out and he may be more respected, he says its not about the money but money is what gambling is all about and its hard to see different reasons for being angry about a loved one gambling.  Like if ur annoyed with a family member drinking too much its about their helath not the money they are spending on it.  Its tough because gambling does affect ur health but is his son not respecting him because he feels he's not put his family first when deciding to gamble..........so all the wrong things to do in life are drinking, drugs, gambling, stealing, cheating on someone, harming someone etc now whose to say that they can not do all of these things thru their whole life because they may become addicted to them!!! I bet losts sons has done one of these things thru his whole life and just because he hasnt got hooked gives him a false sense that his dad is a worse person than him because he has.  Doesnt make sense, its the companies and society that allow this that are to blame, you create products for people they are going to consume them.....

Hi Adam,

With upmost respect....

Firstly GC do not tell people what to do and only advices them...

Secondly..how much do you "bet" on his sons doing something similar? ..you sound like you still have the trait of betting ingrained on your mind if you use such language...

Thirdly..no companies are to blame...we make our own choices...

Sorry, but thought some thruth would be necessary following your last post.

Hi Adam.

I know how hard it must be for LML. I just thank god my kids are still prepared to stand by me side by side & encourage me to control my addictions. There's no - one on here i'd deny my support to but the opinions of their children & families i can't control. All we can do is stand together, support one another & should a family member run out of forgiveness try and become the foster mam/dad/son/daughter & help with the healing process as much as we can. Be positive & look at what we can do in terms of turmoil, sadness & loss. Don't waste time time on the things we can't change put that effort into healing & supporting one another.

Stay Strong

AL
