We were compulsive gamblers

We were gullible

We were foolish

We were heartbroken

We were demoralised

BUT THEM DAYS ARE OVER

We are now compulsive gamblers in recovery

We are heroines and heroes every one of us

We are Gamcare Warrioresses side by side together with Gamcare Warriors

We are strong willed

We are proud

We are resolute

WE WILL SUCCEED

Thank you dear sweet Vinnie for visiting this thread

It made me very happy so I jumped right out of bed

The sun is shining brightly and all the world looks fine

Intoxicating beauty of a morning that is mine

Hope today that all goes well for Scotty and his missus

Sending them pure healing thoughts along with my best wishes

Just been outside marvelling at the beauty of tonight's full moon. I can see it reflecting off the river from my balcony and it all looks magical.

It amazes me how the gravitational effect of the moon causes the Humber to fill up with water and six hours later half of it is tipped back into the North Sea and than 6 hours after that it all comes rushing back in again.

It also blows my mind how the moon whizzes round the earth once a day as the earth does a full 360° spin and every year all of us does a circuit round the sun.

The world is full of mystery and strange things do happen.

However, there is a bizarre phenomena which I have not witnessed and that is for a compulsive gambler to win money and succeed in holding onto it for an appreciable length of time.

Now I think that would indeed be a miracle!

I was a selfish gambler who squandered all the money

The back of her coat was all I saw of my departing honey

Partners deserve honesty and resent been taken for a fool

So best give them respect (with love) for that is very cool

Sad times for me are over for time and tide move on

Lovers betrayed and monies lost are now forever gone

Morning Diary.

Not a happy chappy.

Woke up at 5 with a very painful Frozen Shoulder!

Don't know why it's called a frozen shoulder because it's really hot so applied a bag of frozen peas. The pain is running down my arm and feeling sorry for myself.

Had a couple of painkillers. Holding it with my other hand and hoping it gets better.

Having it x-rayed a week on wednesday but suspect it is a soft tissue injury so not expecting that to show up anything. Been taking the prescribed anti inflammatory tablets for over two weeks but not showing any signs of improvement and the voltarol gel I applied for two weeks prior to that didn't help.

Well I've had a good moan and got it off my chest.

Compared to the suffering that some poor souls have to endure I really have nothing to get too upset about.

The gamble free train is ready to roll

I hear its whistle blow

So get on board gamcare friends

The drivers ready to go

No more for us casinos

Bookies or bingo halls

We've had enough of losing

And freedom now it calls

Best not dwell on past mistakes

Or money we once had

This is a new beginning

And for that we should be glad

Thank you for visiting my diary Scotty. It pleased me that the poem made you smile ??.

Shoulder pain has eased a little thank you. Think I had been laid on it when it woke me up earlier this morning.

Hope you and your wonderful wife are feeling good and enjoying the weekend.

Weather is reasonable here so trust you are managing to get out and about with the dogs. I imagine it will suit them now it is a bit cooler.

Take care dear friend and keep smiling.

Never should have gambled for I didn't have a clue

Even backed a boxer who was battered black and blue

Wagered on a golfer who was no good at putting

Shook his head waved his arms and did a lot of tutting

Roulette now that was tragic though sometimes I was near

But on my numbers that white ball it rarely would appear

Had a go at football but my choice just couldn't score

And if they did the other team would get a couple more

Blackjack looked quite easy with cards to bet upon

But dealers seemed to have a knack of getting twenty one

So the moral of the story I think you will agree

Is blokes like me are better off by staying gamble free

Visited Hull's aquarium "The Deep" over the last two days. It is run "Not For Profit" as well as being all about conservation and education plus the exhibitions and fish are absolutely wonderful.

Nice sunny weather yesterday and today so will shortly be heading off for a walk to the waterfront. Might go in aquarium again for after paying for the first entry, admission is free for the next year so will make it a regular part of my walks and the cafe is reasonably priced.

No thoughts of gambling and have all the blocks in place so feeling good.

Ps. Visits to the deep need to be pre-booked to ensure admittance but I went after 4 and was able to just go in. It closes at 6.

Haha life is good ???.

Enjoyed a couple of hours today at "The Deep." It is wonderful experience and I have fell in love with the fish, amphibians, penguins and all the other amazing residents of Hull's aquarium. It is very educational and makes me ever more aware of what is going on in the seas and all the world around me. Very, very interesting and I enjoyed watching the fish. Also had a baked potato with coleslaw and salad in the cafe.
