Hi got2bedone.. I too have thoughts that in the future I could go to bingo with my friends..........we both know we cant. Our brains are missing our fix and trying to get us to give in that's what it is. I tell the thought to .....off and distract myself. I'm day 27 today and yes got2bedone we have to avoid the "big hole in the road" . Stay strong

Yeah I agree, I wish I could bottle up the raw feeling of when I first done it and keep it with me as a reminder as to why, but the truth is it gets more distant and hurts less, so you have to find a different coping mechanism.

I'm hoping counselling (with a genuine will to quit this time!) and regular hypnotherapy help as well as my own willpower.

Yes I agree time dulls the pain . I haven't relapsed( yet, and hoping not to) but I bet the pain then is instant and sharp.  Let's beat this got2bedone by whatever we find that helps us stay GF

Day 25.

Little bit more time to post today. Spent the weekend at my GF's and naturally passed without any gambling events.

Last Thursday brought up 3 weeks without gambling, which means I've saved at least £225 to date by not gambling.

Looking forward to my next milestone, which is 1 month gamble free.

Had my first counselling session and looking forward to getting into that more as the weeks go on.

Onwards and upwards.

Day 28.

Tomorrow marks a month gamble free and my first month in a long time. Still no real urges but definitely something still lurking.

Trying to recall the pain and anguish of day 1, nowhere to turn and needing to find £25k to stop some very serious problems was horrendous, mentally and even physically. My chest tightens just discussing it.

I can never go back to that or any version of that. My life is immeasurably better without gambling, and inside the next 12 months I'll have genuine financial stability, something I've never had before.

Onwards and upwards.

Well done got2bedone massive achievement for you. You sound more stable and level and that's how I feel. I refer to your day 28 post ' my chest tightens just discussing it'. Won't it be better never to feel like that again? I'm day 38 today and I'm finding now that I have to refer to my profile for my gamble free days total as I'm not so fixated on the number of days. I also find that if I dig too deep when talking about my addiction I start sweating and get the stomach churning and it is a very good tool to think" I'm not going back there!! So well done keep it going, keep posting I find this site next to gamstop has made a huge difference.
