I have had a very mixed few weeks - I got busy at work and lost the thread to login and keep my record, I have moved on a number of financial transactions which has released pressures on me. This however has had a detrimental affect on me mentally as I am now thinking and have also gambled over the last few weeks. Honestly this was not financially too disastrous- however my time and mental health is what is suffering- wasting hours gambling with the chance to win nothing that will change my life! Today I have been at it for four hours! When work to do list gets longer! Alone on train now laying a line in the sand! Reset my gamble date, and let’s go again! I am away this weekend so can relax - my electronic devices are all blocked. Day one starts

Good that you are back Matt. Hope you find the answers why you gamble. You already know its not about the money. Its about your head and your time. All the best Matt.

I think I gamble to break the “day job” a quick release / if it’s in out and win then this does the job, but then it becomes a habit then the losing / time wasting increases and then it takes over! I need to fill the void! (The gym would do / need to lose a couple of the other pounds).
tonight I dropped something at a friends and drove past a slots place and sat and looked - but then told myself to get a grip!

Hello Matt692

Thank you for sharing and i'm sorry to hear you've been struggling lately but it's really pleasing to know you have identified where this is potentially heading pretty by the sounds of it. It's important to remember that relapses are a natural part of recovery and we learn something new about ourselves to keep moving forward each time this happens. I hope you have a good time away and remember we are now available 24/7 on both the hotline: 0808 8020 133 and our Netline service if you require further support.

Hi

I am now back in the normal routine after 4 days abroad (very good fun) today was a struggle day 1 blues, head in fun holiday mode! So first thing sorting money euro’s and cash for month. I went to bank and spent some time wandering and could have ended up a n bookies - however I got a grip and went back home and all good! So day done no gambling! Away with work for a couple of days, so taking minimal cash and a plan to catch up with work and sleep!
