Hey guys I have no magic solution I'm afraid although I wish there was for you. The only other thought I had is Gamcare run a CBT course is that something you've tried? Or would try? Hope both of you manage to find some peace. Best wishes

I wanted to reach out and let you know you are not alone. I’m also trying to get my life back from gambling. You need to look at all the money you have lost and see the real realty. We constantly keep going to gamble for that big win, but keep losing. You can win big one night, but it isn’t enough and you continue to give that money back. Then you probably go into more money to win what you just lost. It’s a vicious cycle. It’s like money doesn’t have any value when you gamble. It becomes like play money and you don’t care about nothing else but winning. Then when you’re not gambling you probably find it hard to buy things you really need, because your low on money and only want to gamble it to get a win. It’s like your life is about waking up just to gamble and nothing else.  It took me to hit rock bottom so many times, that it was insanity. I’ve called myself every name in the book. I can’t believe I was so possessed to just keep throwing money away. I’ve received lawsuit money that would have me set for two years, to only gamble it all in one month. You have to find what is causing you to keep going to gamble. Are you trying to win back what you lost? If so, you are only losing more. The wins here or there will never bring back what you lost, so you have to stop chasing it. Is this a way to bring in income? I don’t know your working situation, but I do know from experience that gambling doesn’t provide stable income. Gambling will only make you more depressed and desperate. You have to pick up a new hobby that will keep you from gambling. All the energy we use to gamble could be used to create a business, go back to school to get a better career, and just focus on another way to make our lives better. There have been lucky people who won so big and was set for life from gambling, and still managed to give it all back. They could’ve stopped, but they couldn’t because they wanted to see if it would happen again. It only made them give it all back and now they just continue to gamble, hoping for another chance of winning big. If someone was to give you a million dollars do you think you would stop? When you’re a gambling addict, you’re still going to see if you can gamble to make more. It’s never enough is what I’m saying. Its the excitement of just winning. You have to get down to what is triggering you to keep gambling. If your suffering from depression, then you really need to start there with getting that under control. Just try to find the positives in your life to keep pushing forward to do better. I do have someone managing my money to help me not gamble. I hope you have supportive people in your life, that will help you stop gambling. It’s not easy, but you can fight this. It feel so much better not worrying about being broke. I’m not rich, but I’m just humble to have help buying food I like to eat and knowing I’m not going to be homeless. I started appreciating having money to buy what I needed. I still think about gambling, but I have to keep reminding myself of all the stress it caused. I won many big jackpots, but sadly don’t have anything to show for it. I could’ve bought a brand new luxury car in cash, but instead gambled my winnings away. I don’t know how long I will have someone managing my money. I just know it helps from not being able to go when I get the feeling to want to gamble. Gambling would have me so broke, that after losing, I didn’t have money to buy anything to eat or pay bills. Then I’m asking family and friends for help and that got old. I would walk around mad at the world, but it was I who was causing the mess. I would just have money to take care of my bills and needs, but I chose to gamble it all. I would tell myself that I would just gamble this much, but would lose and chase my loss until I had nothing but overdrafts. I hurt so many people with my addiction. I created that stress and pain in my life. So this addiction can cause more harm then good. You have to be grateful for what you have. Please find a way to put your energy into something more healthy. It can be music, art, working out or like I said in creating a business. If you have a business, then focus on getting it better. I just hope you can find something else healthy to do then continue gambling.  Just do the best you can with keeping your mind off of gambling. I’m putting my energy into coding, and that has kept me busy because I like it. You are in control of your life. You can continue to keep making it worse or you can fight this addiction and get back on the right path. So many people have hit rock bottom, but were able to get their lives back on track. As long as you are breathing don’t give up.  I’m wishing you the best on your journey with getting your life better. Don’t give up, it will get better if you really fight through this.
