been banned from online casinos for nearly a year now but left my sports betting accounts open as something to do during lockdown

quickly realised

lockdown + lot of football on the tv + nowhere to go = gambling

lost about £80 over the weekend putting stupid bets on , and last night lost another £25

so thought to myself there's no way i am going to be able to last another 2-3 months locked in the house on my own , it will cost me £100 a week on football bets maybe more

thats going to cost me like £1500 by the time the tories let us out of prison in april

so i logged into my 2 accounts and took self exclusions out on them

christ i just want this nonsense over and to get on with my life

sick to back teeth of it all

Hi maxmaher, I completely understand your upset and frustration ....but I don't think things will be back to " normal " anytime soon. What's to stop you opening more accounts ? I had a real bad patch last week the urge to gamble and escape was intense the thing that got me through it was 1, Gamstop  2 No access to money as my husband has full control of our finances. These 2 things gave me the protection I needed to get through it. This week I feel stronger again would I feel as I do today if I'd relapsed ? I don't need to answer that do I . Is there anything I've said there that would make things easier for you ? It's about giving yourself that peace of mind and helping you to choose a different path. I know it's not easy in fact it's v hard but becoming gamble free and doing everything possible to stay gamble free is so so worthwhile. Hope you find a way through

riots are already starting in Manchester

tensions are high , people do not want to live like this anymore being dictated too by an incompetent government

feel they have until april to release people or all hell will break loose and i will be at front of the que

You are entitled to your opinions of course, point I was trying to make is what else can you do to help yourself get through this angst you are feeling. None of what you just said will help you to not gamble

Don’t blame the government for your problem,it’s your doing,it’s you mind not anyone else’s.

Do what I done during lockdown, watch Netflix or something similar, you don’t just “have to gamble “ because you have an excuse do you?

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, I am a lifelong gambler and don’t use excuses for my gambling. You have a gambling problem and you ,and only you are the only  one that can beat it.

Good luck mate.
