I'll start with the fact that this forum and some of the complete strangers who gave me their time during my time here. Literally saved my life. I felt hopeless and started to seriously contemplate some very dark things. So thank you, you have no idea what you guys did for me.

Fast forward a few years, lots of failures and relapses later...I feel like I finally have my life back. Even though I'm still servicing debts I accumulated, I'm not an active gambler and I would take this scenario over being in no debt, but actively problem gambling anyday!

I've come from stealing money, losing jobs, my home, girlfriend, friends to having rebuilt all of these relationships back up again, and paying off everybody I borrowed, stole, cheated money from. The banks, overdrafts, credit cards I can repay with payment plans but this is debt I am managing and repaying.

This isn't a look at me, how well I'm doing post. Far from it.

I came here to tell the people struggling today, or the people who feel they are in hopeless situations, the ones who think they can never beat this illness that it's all very possible. And no matter how bad things are, if you really commit today, you could have a very very different life in 1/2/3/4 years from now.

But please understand, even if you reading this and think well I'm not that bad. This stuff is real progressive, real quick. I know every time I hit rock bottom, I always found a way to drop down further. Make no mistake, you're in the fight of your life here.

But just don't give up, fight this with everything you have and keep trying even if you relapse. You have to got to get up and fight again to beat this and not simply return to being an active gambler.
