Hi all.

I'm a 30 year old guy from England. Until June 2014 I'd never placed a bet in my life and I was always really sensible with every penny I had. I had one single bet for fun in June on the world cup and won £600 from £1. Since then I've become obsessed/addicted with online virtual football and Ive lost £15,000 of my hard earned money in 6 months.

I got ontop of it towards the end of last year and managed to save up 5,000 in Jan from my work, I've just gone and blown it all in 1 week and now I've not money coming in anytime soon.

Me and my wife just found out we're expecting a baby. I really need to tell someone close to me but I'm scared of the stress this will create.

I know there's nothing that can bring back what I've lost, I guess the reason I'm here is to see i'm not the only one out there who suffers from this sick addiction. Is anyone experienced a similar situation in terms of telling close family etc? Any advice would be great. I feel ashamed, embarrsed and physically sick that I've done this again and again. 1 week ago I was back ontop of it now all my money has gone to online gambling websites. Thanks

First of all congratulations on expecting a baby this is fantastic news. I'm no expert but i cAn tell you my experience. I have been gamble free for 3 weeks now. May not much for some but for me this is brilliant. I have spent £'000s and in a lot of debt. I widh i had come on this site earlier. I thought i was the only one but reading these stories I have realised i'm not alone. What I have done is blocked myself completely . Sent loads of emails to every bingo site/company to block me and spoken to bank to make sure i cannot go more OD. It is very difficult but i finally admitted to myself that I was a CG. Anyway good luck and keep posting
