I'm a long term gambler whose problems have really come to a head in the last 9 months. Over the course of 6 months I got myself into a 22k debt. After much hassle, I managed to secure a 23k loan to cover this at a resoanble but not great APR.

Since then, I've still been gambling unfortuantly. I actually won enough money to pay a large chunk of this off via online roulette (my main vice anyway).Yesteray I had a disasterous session where I lost a lot of the loan lump sum. Despite being up enough to pay most of it off. To think I could almost be debt free.

Anyway, I've since signed up to gamstop (gamban easily circumvented with a VPN), but the damage is done and I really don't want to sign up to a DMP (I know whether I like it or not I know is not really an option).

I'm just super P****d off that I could've been half way there to debt free yesterday and now due to my own stupidity I have 1.5 times the magnitude of debt to pay off instead of being almost debt free.

I know the whole saying 'winning is never enough' or 'we can't stop' or 'we're just playing for tokens if we win'. I had the withwral page open. And I did withdrawal a few times (reversed it of course). But I've withdrawaled before on much lower amounts on this. Just f**k that casino for the sea of blacks and when it doies the alternating red/black nonense (in the wrong way).

Some of the responses are going to be 'You haven't accepted yourself as a problem gambler'.. but I do.. I'm just super P****d off by by my lastest actions.

Helios - sorry to hear your tale! So familiar To my tale - we are losing and if we carry on doing the same we’re losers! So my mind is simple we can’t win! Whatever happens if I carry on gambling, today tomorrow or at some point I will lose ....... (£k’s) so my only way out is not to day by day. So I’m trying to think every day I am better off by not gambling, rather than missing out by not gambling. Keep posting and stay safe!

The problem is you're still thinking about winning and chasing losses bevause youre still tjinking about that one good win to clear everything off.

You can win, but you will go back.

You need to stop whether ypu are up or down. When you get over that hump you will be a step closer to recovery.

You're quite right. I am angry myself for doing this. I was one click away from collecting (had the withdrawal page open). Then decided to 'top it up a bit' (a classic) and it cascaded into losing everything with 80-90% of evens (~48%) bets losing. But I suppose would I have stopped at the 'top up' stage. Who knows. I've collected before but recently my gambling has become degenerate.

Hi Helios,

You need to forget about the money as it's gone. You need to focus on never gambling again. Online roulette may be fixed, but so is live roulette - the house always wins. The only way to win is never to give a penny to any casino or machine ever again.
