At the end of June I relapsed and ventured into a few betting shops that I had self-excluded from. In a B.f. shop i was recognised and promptly ordered to leave the premises.

I had quite a surprise today when I received a "Self-Exclusion Enforcement Notice" from B.f. Bookies which told me in no uncertain terms that I was now barred from all their shops for the duration of the self-exclusion and that if I did enter any of their shops I would be deemed to be a trespasser and appropriate action could be taken.

The letter also said "We wish you well in your journey to overcome your gambling problem."

I am thankful and impressed by the actions of B.f. and in particular the manager who ordered me out of his shop.

See, this is one of the reasons I believe self-exclusion is helping me because I don't want to experience what you did but then I hear that someone doing the right thing has been an uplifting experience for you so I don't want to take away from that.

I am really pleased to read this post.

Take care Stephen.

Thats exactly what should be happening. I still have the uneasy sense of the pusher regulating their own affairs but self exclusions worked for me.

I would say to everyone to make it a matter of pride and ask to see the manager and the regular members of staff. Make sure they know of you and that you dont want gambling in your life.

It is a matter of pure pride. Its the gambling dens who should be ashamed of themselves.

Best wishes to everyone on the forum
