came across a video from Russell Brand on YouTube about the rise of gambling as an addiction and the interaction between addiction and economics as a way of making money out of people’s misery. I m not sure if it would be ok to post a link but it’s easily found on YouTube. Found it very insightful and thought provoking.

Yes and I have left a comment under one of Russells videos. He understands gambling addiction because he knows it essentially works in the same way as other addictions he has lived through.
What we really seek is companionship and spirituality. Often what we turn to is short term highs which are actually destroying us.
One day I feel deregulated gambling will be seen as the massive scandal that it is. Drug pushers supplying addicts with the full backing of the law!
