Hi,

as the title says, I gambled using my partners PayPal and debit card, I didn’t realise I wasn’t supposed to use his card, we both live at the same address. Is there a way of getting my winnings or money that I deposited. It’s disappointing that there is no barrier to stop you depositing in someone else’s name if you’re not allowed

Extension onto my story, after I thought I’d be receiving my winnings, I spent a lot of money enjoying Christmas- I know you should never spend money until it’s actually in your hand. I’m struggling to stay afloat this month. Unsure what to do

Hi

If they know you are using someone else's account they can say no and they do that frequently.

Best

Hi steveooo

May i ask, are you here to receive support to stop gambling ?or because your wanting the hope of getting your winnings.

Either way it sounds like you need help if your struggling to stay afloat. Especially if your using other peoples accounts to gamble too is concerning.

There is plenty of help and support to stop gambling if you wish. However its not the place to advise on being able to chase winnings.

.why did you have to use your partners card in the first place, did you already have blocks on yours ?

When you do a bank transfer the name on the account has to match the name on the card it came from so when money is s transferred from your account to a card in someone else's name it's going to flag up.

You're probably better to contact the actual company. This site is for helping you stop gambling, not find ways around any blocks you might have circumvented.

Chris.

Hi there

This site is for people looking to recover from gambling, not for those asking for advice on how they can withdraw winnings?

but reading your post, it sounds like a problem if you’re using someone else’s bank details?

if the betting account was set up in your name and bank details we’re set up in your partners name, then the betting site shouldn’t had let you deposit. Contact the betting site and they may reverse your initial deposit which shouldn’t have happened.

I totally understand how annoyed you are that you had winnings and they won't pay out but they should have to give the money u gambled back with since by the rules if they can't pay BC it's not ur card then they shouldn't be taken the money off you two. But mostly as everyone else says if your using someone else's card money etc you need to seek help. And help us in here we have all been in this boat. But you can use this as a experience to help you change your habit, you won but you don't have the money, you spent money you don't have that is on you no one else, but use this to learn and change. Make it a positive mistake move forward and when you can stop gambling you find you have more money that you had when you did gamble,

Hi all,

I am the original poster. Apologies for the main post if it is insensitive, I am a problem gambler and hadn’t gambled for 2 years until 2 weeks ago during the Christmas period while I had some time off work. I’m disappointed that there isn’t a block for this type of thing so others aren’t in the same situation as me.

I’m disappointed in myself but the only thing I can do is try again and remember the casinos always win.
I’d also like to add for anyone having problem gambling like me, it’s always good to tell people around you, I feel much better within myself after doing so

I cant remember but im pretty sure there is a link somewhere in responsible gambling on gamstop were you give all your details to gamstop and they pass your details around all sites that are signed up with them (which is the majority and mainly all big sites) and your immediately blocked from using them.  I would sign up to this to block the majortiy off gambling sites being accessible.
