I have managed to complete 30 days without gambling so far... and it is day 31 as I am writing this. This is the longest time without gambling I have done and it is getting harder. I think there may be fate happening sometimes because yesterday I was watching a television program and there was a guy in there who was an addict and towards the end he joined GA. That is funny considering I was thinking about playing yesterday and then I saw that. I did think about it today but just said no... you have worked this hard and this Friday you will be paid and will be in the black for the first time in 2 years... don't go there anymore. Anyone else feel fate is there sometimes?

Hi Beany,
Great to hear you have gone thirty days with no gambling! I remember being in the chat room one night over thirty days ago and you were in the chat too. It was such a very difficult time for you and you left the chat unexpectedly. I was so very worried and so were others, and hey look at you now!! well done you have done so well! and now you have started your diary you will get loads more support!
Post on your diary as much as you can you will find it helps now and further along the road when you look back too.
Keep moving forwards and dont look back as your not going that way!!

Once again... fate has kicked in. Watching Neighbours lol, and one of the woman is a gambling addict who because of her relationship problem starting gambling again. Just shows gambling is becoming popular with the soaps now... at least there showing how the problem can happen.

Well done on reaching 30 days from someone who is on 72 days - let's always keep the 42 day gap between us!

Just out of interest, which TV programme was this - the one where someone had to go to GA? I have seen plenty of stories of people who have had problems with smoking, drinking and taking drugs but never one about gambling. And gambling really is just as bad as the others - after all, you don't spend £100 in one minute buying cigarettes but you can easily spend £100 on one spin in the roulette machines which are widely available in every town and city. Crazy!

There really needs to be more publicity about those awful FOBTs.

Hey worried, it was on Neighbours. There are two people on there that are addicts. Know what you mean, I have blown so much money within 10 minutes on gambling that I would never do elsewhere.
