GamCare Announces Further Service Expansion into Cornwall

GamCare is today announcing further service expansion into Cornwall with treatment partner All Out.

The GamCare network of treatment partners provides treatment across Great Britain for those who need sustained help to deal with their gambling problems. All Out provides face-to-face counselling services for anyone experiencing gambling problems.

 “All Out is delighted to be working in a strong partnership with GamCare to provide free and confidential counselling service to people who have problem with gambling. Gambling problems have a devastating effect on the individual with the problem and their family and friends. All Out have partnered with GamCare and have a number of skilled and experienced counsellors across the county who have received specialist training in problem gambling issues, who will provide expert, high quality, one to one counselling to people across Cornwall enabling people to tackle this overwhelming problem in the family”.

 “GamCare operates the national Freephone HelpLine 0808 8020 133 and a range of online support services however face-to-face counselling support is also often required. We are delighted to be working with All Out to expand the face-to-face counselling services we provide into Cornwall.  

All Out will work with local communities and other service providers to ensure that anyone suffering from gambling problems are provided with help and support quickly and as close as possible to where they need it. This service is free and confidential to use and is available to problem gamblers and those affected by a problem gambler.

  1. GamCare is the national provider of education, advice, practical help, support and treatment for anyone affected by a gambling problem. Founded in 1997, the GamCare HelpLine receives nearly 100 calls a day with more than 85% of clients rating the service as “very good” or “excellent”.  In 2011/12 GamCare treated more than 2,700 clients. Around 90% of gamblers in treatment are assessed as problem gamblers; this reduces to around 30% at the end of treatment. GamCare’s return on investment is estimated at 7:1.
  2. GamCare supports best practice within the gambling industry through training, GamCare Certification and consultation. GamCare Certification is an internationally recognised third party accreditation available for gaming, betting and lottery products across land-based, mobile gaming and online platforms. GamCare training is available face-to-face or via GamCare ExTra e-learning.
  3. All Out, in partnership with GamCare, provides services to problem gamblers across Cornwall including individual counselling, group therapy focusing on relapse prevention, assessment of need and affective other support groups.
