Been doing so well since signed up to gamstop, until I went to a family bbq on Friday then came home and spun away 1000 pound which I had saved, feel physically sick even today I do this all time go weeks sometimes months then I'll find a new dodgy casino not on gamstop and bang. Told my partner she is not happy I really need to change payday again tmoz and hopefully now I have self excluded from the last casino this will be a fresh start, each time just feel like am robbing from my own family my blowing all my wage 5 days no gambling here's to years more.

Hi Jamie,

Just reading your post and am wondering if you have also considered downloading blocking software? You can download software for free and download it on to any electronic device you may use to gamble. Used in addition to Gam Stop this will give you an even more effective barrier to accessing any online gambling sites.

If you contact the helpline on 0808 8020 133 or Live Chat an adviser will be able to talk you through how you can do this.

With best wishes,

Helen

I do the same myself. Just find a way and lose and then feel sick. Ashamed. I can't do it myself but if you can, get your partner to control your finances. Please just do it.

Hi Jamie,

Yeah did the same myself last week. Feel like an absolute donut.

Well done for being honest with you're partner. Sounds like it might help if she looked after the finances? Thats one of the things I've done as another preventative measure this week. All my funds are now in her account - just another layer of protection to make it harder to bet, although by no means a solution.

Coming back here daily is helping me a lot as even though I'm day 7 GF today, it takes me back to day 1 every time I read new posts or skim over my own...

Hope you're ok bro!

Hi Jamie

I know it's hard but don't beat yourself up, most on here have relapsed and started again, me included. I thought I'd have a quick 20 which turned into 500, trying to chase my money back.

It's so hard, I'm ok when I have no money as soon a I get paid that's when I have a bender

So now I say to myself don't even have a pound because it will result in big losses

Stay strong it's a tough one to crack x

Hi

It took me along time to learn that step one meant to me that I had certain emotional triggers and would escape at any time.

In time I would learn from my last bet, what was my emotional trigger.

I gave up finances because I could not trust myself with money.

Time off is clean time and can not be lost.

Beating our up and calling our self names is not productive.

Yes I was very dissapointed in myself each time I went back to Gambling.

Yet my periods of clean time got longer and longer.

It is important to not give up on your self.

Serenity helps me understand that there is nothing I can do to change the past.

Yet I am learn from it if I am willing.

Being open and honest about it is a healthy sign of strength.

It is important to go to meetings no matter when our last date was.

It is important to go to meetings even when we have no money.

I found that having vulnerable people back at meetings helps us all.

Love and best wishes
