Just one day at a time and protect yourself.

The diaries are a refuge. A watering hole for compulsive gamblers to share ideas and tell their story.. A sanctuary where reason prevails and hope is alive.

We must be careful as our quest is fraught with danger. The addiction will try to catch us unawares, it will try to deceive us and it will try using our thoughts and emotions against us.

It is good to welcome you back to the diaries Twinboys. You are stronger than you think. You have ample courage and wisdom to win this war and get back your freedom.

Well done for telling your partner! Its a massive part of recovery. You now have that accountablilty and that support. Nothing to hide now, be honest and you can get through this. No more secrets. Let them take over finances. I've been there. Willpower wasn't enough for me. I thought i wanted to stop but i still couldn't do it. I blew my secret right open, took all the support i could get, accepted i was beat and i couldn't do it alone. Im not cured, never will be but i haven't ever been as long as i have GF (not even close) as i am now. One day at a time we can beat it. Life gets better but it'll hurt for a little while. We have to work through it at some point if we want that better lives for ourselves and the people we love. Let yourself free yourself from this addiction.

All the best.

Well done on getting counselling, it's hard at first but it will get better. Life will improve as time goes by and you'll realise what you've done is for the best.
