I really don’t know where to start.

This gambling problem of mine has being going on for the last 2 years, since noticing I had a problem I have managed to reduce the amount I gamble and the amounts however I still end up putting money into online slots.

I joined Gam Stop and wasn’t able to gamble for a good while until I met my partner and wasn’t honest about my issue, over the last few months I have being playing on their name. I have came clean and ask them to change their password and said under no circumstance to let me on their account.

I have a bit of an issue though, we have a trip planned to Las Vegas and I don’t know if it would be right for me to gamble or not? I’m not educated on the way this problem works etc. It’s a once in a life trip for myself and I don’t want to ruin it for either of us.

Is it possible I go and gamble within my limits and then when I come home I stop again as I will have no access?

I don’t want to offend anyone, I’m just looking for advice on this situation as it is in the back of my mind.

Vegas would be hell for me. I really would nor be able to cope. It sounds like a terrible idea for you. There are so many amazing places in the world to alternatively go.

Hi

Welcome to the forum.

You seem to be at a known stage where you just want to control your gambling but not stop.

If you have shown signs of addiction it doesnt work like that. For any complulsive gambler a trip to Las Vegas would be a totally crazy idea.

The way you have written your post is a comfort zone of delusion. To get you thinking hard about this write down what you have lost. You are dealing with the most poerful form of drug addictions and you have a lot to learn about the sheer devastating power of a gambling addiction.

You are just beginning to let reality sink in but have a long way to go yet..your addiction wont let you go that easily

What has gambling done to you again? Remind me of any upsides before you talk about stopping in one area but having trips to the gambling capital of the western world.

Glamorous? Tell that to the people who lost everything or are now in prison due to gambling debts. Tell that to the people sleeping in their old cars in vegas after getting another fix. Divorced alone, bankrupt, skint but craving that next trip to the casino.

If you have gambled way too much you have a serious problem. Abstention is the only way to rescue your life.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum

Imagine being a recovering alcoholic and going on holiday to a brewery?

Sounds ridiculous doesn't it?

The defence for not going to Vegas rests it's case your honour.
