DAY 3 OF NO GAMBLING.  Hi everyone. After many attempts that have lasted a while and some not so long this time i have finally got all measures in place. I have self excluded from over 60 bookies firstly, i have also excluded from every casino in the uk which i did whilst at a casino. it was simple to do and thirdly i have now got gamstop on computer making it impossible for me to to any online gambling. All these measures are in place aswell as my own will power in other areas such as the lottery and scratchcards. My situation is currently good, I have a job and i have savings and i want it to stay that way. Ive heard people say they will still have the odd go on the lottery as its not the same. Yes it is the same, ITS GAMBLING. My weakness over the years has been the FOBT machines, i havent played one in a bookies for a while due to exclusion. 3 days agao i lost online about XXX quid. I am no blocked from using online gaming. If you are serious about quitting you will take the time and effort to phone the central self exclusion team that i posted about recently and you will also self exclude from all uk casinos and get in touch with gamstop about blocking online gaming. If you dont do these 3 things then you are not serious about quitting. One thing i have never done as a gambler is leave myself short for bills and food and treats. Even if ive had a bad loss and kept going and going i have always stopped at the point where it would affect others. ALWAYS KEEP MONEY BACK FOR BILLS, FOOD AND TREATS. ALWAYS. REMEMBER IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT QUITTING GAMBLING THEN DO THESE 3 THINGS.

1. CONTACT GAMSTOP AND GET YOUR SELF BARRED FROM ONLINE GAMING

2. SPEAK TO THE CENTRAL SELF EXCLUSION TEAM TO SELF EXCLUDE FROM AS MANY BOOKIES AS POSSIBLE.

3. SELF EXCLUDE ALSO FROM ALL UK CASINO'S.

IT TAKES TIME AND EFFORT BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT TO YOU.  STAY STRONG AND DONT GAMBLE.

DAY 6. I AM NOW SELF EXCLUDED FROM COUNTLESS BOOKIES, EVERY U.K CASINO AND ALSO SIGNED UPTO GAMSTOP. MY WILLPOWER WILL STILL BE NEEDED TO OVERCOME LOTTERY AND SCRATCHCARDS WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM. I ALSO SUFFER FROM ANXIETY, O.C.D, PANIC ATTACKS AND DEPRESSION ON TOP OF THE GAMBLING. FINANCIALLY I AM OK AS I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT ENOUGH BACK FOR FOOD BILLS AND TREATS, NO WAY WAS I EVER GOING TO GIVE GAMBLING COMPANIES ANYMORE THAN THAT, AND NOW WITH THE MEASURES PUT IN PLACE I WONT GIVE THEM A PENNY EVER AGAIN. HOPE YOU ARE ALL WELL AND KEEPING AWAY FROM GAMBLING. STAY STRONG FOLKS.

Thanks Murlo. DAY 10 now. NO gambling on anything. You cannot say you have quit unless you give up everything including lottery. It feels good.

Congratulations on your excellent progress. I do believe that life has more meaning the further away we get from the last bet and you are now 10 days into your journey of recovery.

Fully respect your positive attitude and admire the way you have put all the stops in place to minimise the risk of your gambling. You also seem to have a good understanding of what we are up against plus a genuine desire to live a gamble free life.

Life can be a great adventure full of ups and downs and I hope your adventures bring you contentment, fun and plenty of satisfaction.

Thank you Stephen. DAY 12 now since i last gambled. It is worth it. I feel like i am beating the bookies by not going in. They havent got their hands on my money and they wont so that is a victory in itself. Hope you are doing well and staying away. Hopefully more high street bookies close down too.
