another couple of days have gone by, still gamble free, still not had a drink, in good health not even heard any voices for a couple of weeks since my injection so that's really good progress.. Some days are just simple, go to work come back eat watch tv sleep go to sleep, I seem to have had a couple of weeks of this and getting pretty bored to some degree, however I've got to think a boring life is a better life. Those times years ago where I was very unwell all I wanted was a simple life and now ive got it ive got to be thankful. Here's to watching football tonight and years ahead of me without gambling.

I think I'm a pretty deep thinker which helps in some ways but is a big minus in others. I think I need to see what people at work say on face value instead of seeing hidden meanings. Hopefully I can do this. I have been thinking today about my job and ways to progress and or am I happy in what I'm doing knowing that its not going anywhere. A few years ago I just wanted a simple job where I could go to it and come home without having too mu ch stress in the process, I think having that means more than paying and saving more in the process. I just think to myself am I able to

to do more!!! The answer to that is not clear, I don't want to go back to weekends of work and Christmases not at home so no to retail again. I'm not qualified in anything else. I'm not a handy person so trades is out of the question. I think the grass is always greener and if I did leave id no doubt regret it. I keep asking for potential overtime but get little bits and that's all. I guess I should be thankful for a living and housing and a good future. U allways seem to look towards what u haven't got at the present thinking u can do better when in fact I should be very very thankful for what ive managed to achieve . Also I am helping out at work in a lot of ways so that's good just wish there was a bit more variety in my job, my manager said recently sorry for giving u all the S****y jobs. I don't k now really just need to see the positives andd stop thinking about improving areas of my life that don't need improving and start improving other areas!

so I think I need some new targets in areas outside of work. Ive got my birthday coming up and usually I go out in Brighton and friends visit and we have some beers but I feel that with not drinking this would be tempting to start again, u see all my usual outlets of relief and fun have evolved around pubs and my socialising since ive stopped has completely changed, also with having a mortgage ive been think I'm Ng about spending less and less so I can pay off more and more and then with the end goal of moving in. This is currently if all goes to plan a three year target. Then I can move in maybe six months later when i ve saved up for a buffer and and sofa. Dfs is always half price lol.

I think I'm complicating things too much, I'm gamble free and i have a job and I have a flat and i and my family are healthy, I should be ecstatic but instead I'm thinking about the greener grass just over there, why who knows I think if we are not striving for change what would we aim for. I think the owner of amazon and facebook if they were happy with their first million like u think they would be they would have would up but not weallways aim further and further we are never happy. I don't think anyone's fully happy theres a lot of depression around these days but I don't think that's new its just nobody ever settles for what they've got that's boring.

Hi Adam,

Well done on your journey so far! Like your recent posts and mussings in general.

Funnily enough, had very similar conversations today.  Regards depression and isolation in people. Seems like so many wants help, TALK, ability to express ourselves and shout for understanding about the struggles, but opportunity given, we tend to keep stuff to ourselves...we shut down. ..its our stuff, its private, we shall deal with it....

Today Somebody mentioned journeys on the train many moons back versus now. ...nobody communicates now. It's either head in a phone, headsets on, book in hand. If you start conversation, you may be viewed as loonie or a stalker or so on.

There is no human interaction left. No emotions or feelings...well, they are...however they're well hidden behind the wall we, as society continuing to built  ourselves.

Something needs to change but as we all know, it can only come from each of us individually.

Thanks for the source of good food for thought & keep up good work!

Day at a time ?

hi day at a time, thanks for the post much appreciated, its true people are becoming more isolated not physically but mentally within their pcs and mobiles. Technology I grew when it works but I feel it also has a cost. I reckon we are at the height of what can actually be done with technology and the height of negative consequences of technology. I think young genaratikns are under a lot of pressure to conform to an image of being happy and successful and with that come stress and depression. I think facebook has had its time now and the next generation will rebel against it to live away from technology. Watch tho space lol.

Another long bank holiday weekend has passed, went to a pub yesturday with some friends was nice, havent been to gym just sat back and relaxed, watched some films, done some ironing, cleaning, got a haircut, listened to some music, got ecstatic when arsenal drew making it spurs in champions league next year.  Got a holiday week to look forward to at end of the month so three weeks of work then that.  Looking forward to the football games this week first.

there seems to be many times where I think the grass is greener but I have to accept the areas of my life that aren't soo good and be thankfulk for areas that are good. My manager P****s me off sometimes but I have to grin and bear it and say nothing as that's what's best. my manager has just employed s

well well well, what an amazing evening last night!!!!!! i mean an epic evening!!!!! one for the history books!!!!!!!!.  Ive supoorted spurs from as young as i can remember back in the day, it was the first football kit i got (i had barnby on the back) and they are a brilliant team to support.   It seems that we are going to the next level, and dare i say it over the next five years i think we will get some trophies to silence all the ney sayers.  Last nights game was purely a dream as it was near an impossible feat to come back from three down in forty five minutes, but they stuck to the strategy and forced the young ajax team back and in the last minute of extra time scored to bring us the well deserved victory.  Out best player kane may even be back for the final xxxx well done spurs you will forever by in my heart and thank go i bought bt sport this year it has been an amazing specticle to watch.

another week done, I thought id post on the Friday night rather than Sunday night this time as well as I'm a bit bored lol. I'm not excited to get to the weekend this time due to the fact that this week was soo amazing with footbal every night that the weekend will be somewhat boring lol. Oh well two days off work cant be bad. Off to the gym tomo then having a friend visit on Sunday for a roast and watch the football in the pub. Onwards and upwards all I'm striving for is to reach the twelth of August gamble free for a whole year!! If I manage that everything else is just peaches.

bit of a strange chat room tonight, aguments between users, hopefully this will be a one off.  Been a good day, met up with a mate and went for a roast, then watched the football, then back home, the arguments in the chat were a bit annoying but i guess its gonna happen every now and then.
