Hi guys,

just wanted to get on here and explain how I am feeling right now in regards to my gambling. I haven’t gambled since the 16th November and feel really good about it. What I feel really bad about is the fact that I had spent all of my savings on gambling and do not know how to cope with this. I’m lucky to not have any debt through gambling but once I sign into my online bank it breaks my heart seeing all the money I had towards a house deposit gone. I know there’s no way of undoing what I have done but I am really struggling to get over not having that money anymore. It really is not till after that you look back and think what the hell was I doing, I would never go out in a day and spend £500 on myself but online that can be gone in an hour. Due to this year I am also not nearly making as much money as I was so am really struggling to save. Does anyone have any advice for getting over their losses and spending their savings? Would really appreciate it

Use the word How and set your goals. How will you make money to fill up that bank account again? That will give you ideas you may not have thought of before. Figuring out why is not going to change anything. How is much more powerful word for you to get inspired and do good things for the future. Give it a try and write it down.

Set your goal and go for it.

Best

C

Hi well done for not gambling since 16th november.I can totally relate to how you feel about your losses I felt the same when I first stopped gambling. The only advice I can give is you know the money has gone so try not to dwell on it as this will not do you any good I know it is hard.Just think that you are not spending anymore money on gambling and day by day life will get better Try not to look  at your account all the time as this is a constant reminder of your losses.Hand your finances over to someone else may help.If you can't do this just save what you can afford but try not to worry about it too muchTake one day at a time

Hope this helps

Angel

It really is a bitter pill to swallow when you're confronted with the money you lost. I totally get where you're coming from. Sadly, the only cure is acceptance. Your losses and my losses will never be recouped. The thought is a heart breaker, but it is reality and in order to move on needs to be accepted. In the future, when you're flush again, never give in to the temptation that you can recoup it. If you do it's back to square one and the misery and pain that comes with it. That's what I tell myself. I'm over 100 days gambling free now and I know my losses are in the past. Good luck.
