I filled in the forms with details of my health, finances and mobility.

The reply just came through and they recommend I go to Bournemouth, get a blanket to cover my knees and rent a mobility scooter.

Sigh

On a more serious note, I had a good day.

Went to the Tenants Forum meeting which was interesting and than visited a really old church (Saint Marys) which is situated close to the city centre. It only opens for a few hours a week and it's cold, damp and neglected (bit like me really which is probably why I felt at home there). Some of it dates back to the 14th century whilst part of it was added on in Victorian times. A bit eerie in places but in a nice sort of way.

Went for a coffee and had a few laughs along the way.

I just had a chat with Yin & Yang

And they both said to me

Far better it is for Stephen to be calm and gamble free

There is no such thing as moonshine for it is light off the sun reflected

And on days gone by when my pension was done I was left all alone and neglected

So where is the logic in these strange events that cause me a little confusion

For I much prefer a simple life with no bitterness, greed or delusion

My life as a foolish gambler was wanton with lustful desire

And the place where I was headed had flames rising up from the fire

But now I walk the gamble free road, smiling with eyes open wide

Supported by awesome gamcare friends who are walking by my side

An excellent weekend but in reality, every day is an adventure in one way or another.

Why fret or fuss or take things too much to heart when the words of the song quite rightly say:

"Keep Smiling At Troubles For Troubles Are Bubbles And Bubbles Will Soon Blow Away."

Morning Stephen,

I really like the words of that song; never heard that before!

Wishing you an enjoyable Sunday, my friend.

Thank you Mixer & Mark for visiting my diary.

Today has been good. Visited a friend and than enjoyed a nice walk by the river.

Very cold but I was well wrapped up.

Thank you Murlo.

Delux Foot Spa is very relaxing indeed and my tootsies are tickled pink.

I am a bit late eating this evening but am just going to prepare a nice mix of vegetables and make a sauce with vegetable stock cube, tomatoes, garlic, pepper sauce, milled chia seeds, extra virgin olive oil and yeast flakes.

Not had a bet for many a day

And every tiny second sees me further on my way

To a life of this or that or maybe some of the other

I focus on just who I am or someone else or another

Bright & beautiful sunbeams burst from the big blue sky

A pleasant day to wave and smile at friends who pass me by

My gamble free world is safe and warm with nourishment aplenty

So counting all my blessings on day twenty one o one twenty

Love and best wishes to all on the diaries

Thank you Zoe & Murlo for visiting my diary. I appreciate your support and encouragement.

Hello Diary.

Sad to read that Terry Jones (Monty Python) has passed away at age 77 but was than horrified to read that he had been suffering with a rare form of dementia for 4 years. I sort of grew up with that humour so it is like the beginning of the end of an era for me, plus I am 70 this year and it reminds me that a lot of people call it a day in their seventies.

Anyway enough of that morbid stuff.

The only thing that will concern me when I get to the pearly gates is finding out which queue is for non gamblers and than I will patiently get in line with a smug look on my face.

Great comedy!

May he rest in peace and may Stephen rise in Glory!

Love you pal.
