Day 29

Weekly Sunday update, although not much to update on. No urges since a few days ago which I posted about - still going strong. I'd already planned out a budget but yesterday I spent a good chunk of time looking at when I would be paying some debts/credit cards off - looking forward to this time next year and having considerably lower debts and companies I owe money to. And eventually for that credit score to go up...

Day 36

All going very well - just less than a week to go until next payday which means I didn't spend a penny from my last pay on gambling... that hasn't happened in a very long time.

Very pleased with myself - just got to keep going and stay strong.

Dear T-Positive,

Its great to hear that you are managing your finances better and have not spent any money on gambling from our last pay day. You should be very proud of this achievement, and keep going in the right direction with your recovery. Well done.

All the best

Asim

Day 43

Not much too report, really. Genuinely surprised I've got this far. I've had so many attempts at this and always seem to mess up within a week or 2, sometimes getting closer to a month. This is the furthest I've got and I'm surprised but so grateful. Feeling pretty strong about it - not really had any urges and I'm feeling SO positive about the future with my debts and finances as a result of it. Never really suffered with any major mental health problems, but seeing positive changes there too.

I continue to be aware that it's very early days though, so that's always at the back of my head and I know I need stay 'on guard'.

Thank you both so much for commenting - it means a lot 🙂

I'm doing a good job at keeping myself occupied. I haven't been reading others diaries as much as I would like to - so hopefully I'll set some time aside to do that soon. It's always a good inspiration to hear from those that have been successful in their journeys and cheer along with those who are at a similar stage as me.

Hiya t-positive

I'm glad to hear your doing well and sometimes it's hard to read others journeys or there isn't enough hours in the day. I love to read that someone's doing well as it gives me the confidence to keep going and the belief we can all achieve this gamble free life aswell as we can all relapse but get back on that bike and set off again, I've had so much information from the people on this site plus it lets me remember I'm not on my own. Keep up the good work

Checking in on day 58 - feeling great with that number, almost 2 whole months!

Being kept SUPER busy, mainly with work so I think that's really helping - barely even have a second to think about gambling so not had any urges.

Day 64 GF

Amazing news - over 2 months now. Had some small urges this past week but they didn't last long at all but just a small reminder that it's a constant battle. Overall I'm doing really well.

Finances are doing better - paid off my final payday loan this past week which is massive for me - I've been in that vicious trap/cycle of borrowing with those and now it's over. Still got a lot of credit card debt to work on but paying off that final payday loan was a big milestone for me! 🙂

Day 70.

But d**n, I seem to be really struggling with it this evening. Had some big urges throughout the day and this evening I've just went and tried everything to get into an online casino and deposit. Thankfully all my attempts didn't work but definitely a scary moment when I came to my senses. Need to go keep myself busy I think, I don't want to keep getting that close again!!!

Hi T positive don't panic just stick with it. Thankfully because you couldn't log on there was enough time for you think it through . Think how bad you would feel now if you had gambled, so be thankful the blocks work it's a positive outcome. Best wishes

Thank you @charlieboy. It is definitely a positive outcome - I came so close, that's something to reflect on. Just so thankful I have blocks in place.

Thanks for commenting, I hope you're doing well - I'll need to catch-up on your diary.

It's always there tho isn't it . To stay gamble free we will always need to be vigilant never let our guard down. My test will come when bingo halls re- open where my gambling started 20years ago. Used to go with friends for a night out , but I know that I will have to self exclude. Stay strong give yourself credit you're doing good I'm 53days today I definitely feel more stable it's good not have the adrenaline fuelled highs and the despairing lows. I like stable !!?
