Don't be too hard on yourself when you say it's not the fault of things you have been through in life. Life stuff may not have caused you to gamble, true. However, circumstances may have caused you to feel vulnerable, exposed and weak of resolve and gambling simply came knocking at the door at a bad time. Over time, gambling almost feels like a companion but it's a controlling presence so it's easy to lose touch with who you are. Its understandable.
People say time is a healer, I'm still undecided about that. It does bring distance however and with each passing day the bad feeling and distress that gambling caused you will be just a speck in your rear view mirror.

Bit confused as to how I feel ,
feel like I’ve lost who I am along the way !
lost friends and family I’m not sure if it was my choice or theirs .
