Sick of spending time and money on online slots. Always trying to win back what I previously lost

Even when I win a decent amount I just keep playing and give it all back

I then get annoyed with myself and depressed. The money I have wasted could have been used for something else

Over the last 2 years my time spent online has increased as well as the amount I am spending

I want tonight to have been the last bet. I need to break this habit

It's hard to stomach the realization that it isint even about winning money. If it was we'd probably all be rich from cashing out our winnings.

I don't know about you but I know I'm addicted to the distraction of it all. Even the distraction of a big loss. I focus in on that and nothing else seems to matter. It's bizarre really.

Have you tried any of the first steps? Self isolating, gamstop, asking your bank to block transactions etc?

Anyways don't be too hard on yourself. It doesn't make you a bad person, just makes you a person who could do with a bit of help.

Thanks for the reply

I’ve blocked all of my betting accounts

I work overseas, when I’m home with the wife and kids I can go weeks without thinking about it at all. But when I get back to work, that’s when I find it the hardest. Too much time on my hands

I can be careful when it comes to spending cash but think nothing of spending £XXX on a nights spinning. The following days I feel terrible as I could have topped the kids savings account up

I’m determined to make it happen and break the habit

I'm so sorry for how you feel at the moment but the truth of the matter is if you don't get things in place to stop you then your going to lose alot more money. We're as now you've got a good income and I take it as your not in debt,  could be wrong but your only one night away from losing everything. I relapsed on the 24th of April and playing roulette online for 1hr I lost nearly  £8000 out off PayPal that I never even had. Sat today eating food a church dropped me off as haven't got a penny I'm so ashamed by my actions but just wanted to let you know it could happen to anyone. Good luck in not gambling my friend

Thanks for the support

I’ve gone 3 days without a bet and haven’t thought about it until I came across online gambling advertising. it seems to be everywhere

I just have to remember how bad it makes me feel when I’ve wasted the money

A friend of mine did a hypnotherapist session to quite smoking. Seemed to do the trick for a couple of months at least. Not sure if anyone has tried it and does it work?
