Hi thank you for your kind words and wisdom you are right in what you say, I just need to see some light at the end of the tunnel, it's just a massive shock to me what I've done now that I've realized it, I'm a stupid stupid person.

Thank you all for your help all your words are going in and when I read your messages it really helps me to feel that there is hope for me.

Kind regards William

Hi again William :)).

I just wanted to pick you up on the phrase "I'm a stupid , stupid person " ....well that's before you decided to change all that my friend and it's now all about going forward with a different picture in your mind of how you want life to be :))

And as for that light at the end of the tunnel well it does get closer and brighter the more distance you put between you and your last bet that's for sure  but as I say It's been a while since my last gamble and these day's the last time I saw that light was when someone with a torch was walking down it bringing me more work :)) LOL .

Have a good one William and all the best for now .

Alan

Hi all thank you so much for all your help and support, I've been to the citizens advice bureau and they're helping me with sorting my debts out I've to see a debt case worker so that's a weight off my mind, so I can now just concentrate on the main thing of not betting which I still think about but my wife and family and my friends on this site are so good to me I'm never alone which stops me from wandering away from not betting

Thank you all so much

Kind regards William

Wonderful news William .

When you deal with thing's like that I agree  it is as though a huge weight has been lifted and what a relief too :)) , all we can do is to deal with things that trouble us in order of priority and as that debt's been worrying you so much it will now allow you to focus on staying gamble free .

You will still think of it from time to time , something that has been such a big part of our live's will not simply go away overnight , I still sometimes even now get a fleeting thought about the old day's but with time you'll dismiss such thoughts as simply as I do .

One day at a time is all it takes to move forward William , sometimes thinking about the bigger picture of not gambling again is a scary prospect again as it was for me but do it in bite size chunks and it seems far more manageable and totally less scary :)) .

It's all sounding positive and just the way we need it .

Stay well William and keep posting .

Wishing you well

Hi all thank you so much for all your positive words, your right getting things sorted is a massive weight off my mind and although I've still had thoughts of gambling but I've been more thinking about staying clear of any thing to do with betting and getting my life back and to start enjoying my life with my wife and family, I went to the forest with my wife and granddaughter we bought a slead and we went down the large hills we had great fun now before I stopped betting I would never have gone with them because my life was gambling but not anymore thank God and the lovely people on this site thank you so much.

Kind regards William

I think we lose sight of all the important stuff to be honest , were so focused on our addiction it becomes all that matters , while all the time those that truly matter are left on the sidelines .

I love the fact that when I'm gifted the opportunity of being with my family at a gathering of the clan then I'm actually there in the room ( or garden as the case may be ) engaging  and truly listening instead of a head full of thoughts trying to find an excuse to cut short the gathering in order not to miss the bookies before closing time .

Liking the look of all this positive posting my friend and how things can change in such a short time :)).

Glad you had a great day :))

Hi all this is my first week of not betting today is 7 days and I feel great about myself I know it's only a week but this is massive for me because I've been gambling since the age of 14 I'm now just turning 50 so that's 36 years of non stop gambling and non stop loosing.

I'm planning to do what my wife suggested to me and that is I take up fishing to give me something to do and think about rather than gambling, all positive thoughts today I feel great.

Regards William

Hi William .

Congratulations my friend on your first week of winning for real :))

I'm in my late 50's so can empathise how you feel about wasting many years gambling and also how it feels to get past that milestone of not gambling for a  complete week

I arrived here in honesty without being able to go a few hours without a bet and think the longest was probably 2 or 3 day's before addiction dragged me back and did it's stuff all over again .

Take it from me my friend those weeks soon turn to months and years , you've made that giant leap so just keep pushing ahead :)) .

Hobbies are great for occupying the mind and focusing elsewhere and I agree with your wife as there's nothing better than dipping your worm in the sea or lake whichever you prefere :)).

Stay well William and I'll catch up soon .

Regards

Hi all it's Saturday my bogey day and to push me even further my brother sends me a text about a tip he's had and says it won't get beatin

Wow to say that it's messed with my mind is an understatement, luckily my wife is here with me and she and I are going to the seaside for the afternoon and evening for a fish and chips tea.

My wife has told my brother to stop sending me anything to do with betting because I'm a gambling addict and I'm trying so hard to pack it all in.

Kind regards William

Hi all I'm still bet free I'm starting to find it a little bit easier as the days bet free go by.

My wife and family are brilliant with keeping me on the straight and narrow, when I think about it I've spent more time with them in the last few weeks than I have in a very long time.

Thank you to all of you for your kind words and help.

Kind regards William

Hi all it's been another day of not betting and I'm feeling like I don't care about gambling anymore but I'm not falling into that sort of trap because thinking like that will lead to a big fall.

It's just one more day bet free and I'm keeping it like that, one day at a time please God

I hope everyone is doing well and staying bet free.

Kind regards William
