Hi everyone, here again feeling down and mad at myself, been betting again for last month or so,I really need to get back to no betting again,I did stop for around 4months but foolishly temptation got better of me,my downfall is horses,if I win initially I can control myself,if I lose i then chase ,betting on short price good things that of course get well stuffed after easily winning before and are clear form pick hmmm,I know it's a mugs game but still I keep throwing my cash at them, any support would be gratefully welcomed. tia

Your only support will come from yourself. Ban yourself, block everything, self exclude from everything. Chasing losses is the worst, as it may result in even bigger losses.

No temptation will come if you cannot do another bet, due to the above.

wish you well

Hiya bigmug

I feel for you and it's so easy to bet on the short odds increasing your wager thinking that it's a sure thing. We've all been there and as we're problem gamblers it's very difficult not to chase your losses but we all do it and if your anything like me you'll keep going till you've No more access to any money. Well the worst thing we can do is Chase the win as we're only left in one position and that's there's a rich bookie and a poor punter. I was gamble free for over a year then through an email on the 24th of April I went on to roulette online just to bet £10 well 1hr later I'd nearly lost  £8000 that I  never even had well from that night I've been in severe financial difficulties, but I've also had to put it down to a loss and from that day forward I won't put my family in that position again as I lost everything we had plus thousands we didn't. So I'm taking it one day at a time and I'm not going to say I'll never gamble again as said that so many times in the past just to mess up worse than before. All I can suggest to you is stop gambling just take it one day at a time try to forget about what you've lost as that's the past and all you can do is concentrate on the future making sure this doesn't happen again, put all your blocks intoplace that way if you relapse it's damage limitations. And remember your not on your own but you can change the way you move forward in your life plus who wants to live a life feeling the way we do when we loose everything thing we've got. Start your journey from now being gamble free just taking it one day at a time, good luck my friend

So I've just relapsed too hadnt bet since march had £600 in my bank was on twitter and noticed some racing was on. I unlocked my b****5 account and noticed a horse I used to follow. Terebellum I thought shes such a good bet. Literally had 500 quid on the nose and said if I win I'll withdraw and block the account. It come 3rd. I then blocked b****5 and put my last 100 pounds on another random horse and lost. Wont get paid til 25th and now out of money. Feels fantastic...not.. I'm just so bored.. at the moment and found it too tempting. I'm now depressed and got to last to end of the month with nothing

It's annoying. Thing is I cant put 20 quid on and enjoy it anymore my bets are 150 too 500 quid a time. Short prices I always go big. I've done 600 today in 2 races. Never satisfied most people will keep it in the bank I just wanna try win back some to pay off debts that I have from racing. I physically cant bet now and watch golden horde win tomorrow. I loved it at first but the game is rigged terebellum should of hacked up. Sickened. Now I have to sit and pretend everything's alright for 14 days til I get paid. And I'm worried when it's the 25th I'll go big on enable to try get this months losses back

You both still talk like you're insiders, just unlucky because of some conspiracy.

If it was as easy as spotting the short odds sure things we'd all be doing it.

If you can let that life go you'll struggle. If you watch racing and select winners when not betting eventually you'll kid yourself that you'll win this time. Well, it's what you both did.

I did it twenty five years ago, then twenty, then eighteen years ago and so on.

Even if I won, because I was an expert, I couldn't stop because I was a compulsive gambler. Once you accept who you are then you've got a chance. Don't watch the racing, it'll only end in disaster. Maybe not tomorrow but eventually.

Accept your illness and look forward, not backwards.

Chris.

Wise words and thank you,I'll doo my upmost best to defeat this illness,I won't check results or look at racing pages,if I don't look at racing I'm sure itll be less tempting, although I know it's going to be a hard slog

What else are you going to do to block your access to gambling?

What are your plans to identify what it is that's driving you to gamble?

Self exclude from shops, boredom, thinking I can win some extra cash when we all know that's not the case,if you get lucky it's like borrowing cash and paying it back at extortionate interest rates
