Hi all day 25 gf - just been reading some “introduction posts in forum” and can feel the pain from the stories, I like to read the raw feeling, which at present has gone away!

feeling a little stressed- looking at a new car deal (lease run out soon). Feeling I want to commit to a Better car as I earn the money, however my debt still needs paying! I know if i continue to stop my debts will reduce, this is the key!!!! But I also don’t want to pressure myself into no “spare”

this is unsettling me. Also I have been looking at Remortgages and debt consolidation, pension options to try and get a position to move forward and not be “living” on little month after month to repay!

Although I feel that in three-5 years if I keep living on nothing and not gambling I will be debt free.

not sure what to do!

Any advice?

Day 27 - some decisions made about car lease, and also financial plan to get debt free in three years! This is all dependent on one thing stopping Gambling or should I say not start gambling. I am trying to ingrain my mind into being a non gambler, not a gambler that is abstaining!

Get the paperwork done tomorrow and then onward to a better life!

Hi - found your diary!

I'm impressed with your focus and commitment and that has given me some strength this evening. I cant give any financial advice as I don't feel in a position too but I know there are debt sites/associations that can offer great advice if that helps you?

I'm fighting debt and it is only recently that I have acknowledged a large amount of my debts are from my addiction but this is your diary and I just wanted to return the complement as you popped on mine and was quite right in saying I have an addiction and I'll be honest the truth hurts but thank you - I need to hear it.

Stay strong - best wishes and I have subscribed to your journey

Today is day 28! 4 weeks! This is a nice milestone for me, I can confirm that my life has improved although still loads to clear! Blockages in place and I am no longer a gambler! So here is to another day gf! Yesterday I tweaked my back so have been laid low, I need to do some exercises to help me recover as I need to be mobile! Hopefully will get moving again!

9th July was a big day in setting a future, I did a good thing I spent hours upon hours on a slots machine and lost sufficient money that meant I was never going to win! I made a decision to “stop this” I have put barriers in place and my mind is much clearer! Within 30 days life looks different- I owe exactly the same, and in a strange way “it doesn’t matter” as over time this will reduce! Decisions are mine and the future will be better and I can plan.

here is to another day as a non gambler!

Day 30 - sun out! A to do list as long as you’re arm - having just watched a film about a young person with cancer dying and the strength and hopes that she must do what she wants with time left! Inspiring!!

I am going to do a bucket list!

Have a good day as a non gambler

Yippee!!!!! Today is one month as a non gambler! It’s a small target met, I have to reset some more goals (I am golfing in Portugal in nov) so that will be my 90 days mark.

Today is what matters so here’s to another day as a non gambler

Congratulations on the 1 month GF - that is great going!

Keep up the positive thoughts but never get complacent - it can come back and bite you when you are least expecting it.

Keep it going
