Thank you Scotty. Hope you are having a good day.

I have just been listening to a program on gambling which was broadcast on Radio 4 yesterday.

Well worth a listen and thank you Joydivider for mentioning it.

BBC Sounds - Broadcast Wednesday 25th October - Thinking Aloud (Gambling).

Wishing everyone a super duper gamble free Thursday.

Thank you Stace. Good to see you in the chatroom earlier.

You are a wonderful lady who unfortunately has had to cope with a lot of trauma over the years but I sincerely believe that one day soon you will stop gambling and find the peace and happiness that you deserve.

Best wishes.

Many thanks Scotty for visiting my diary.

Hope you and your wife are well and your father in law is comfortable in hospital.

Hello Diary.

There seems to be so much sadness and conflict in the world and that makes me feel sad.

It is such a shame that people cannot show each other more compassion, love and understanding whilst respecting planet earth and everything upon it.

My thoughts and prayers are with people and animals who being mistreated and have no means of escaping the cruelty and abuse that they are forced to endure.

Thank you Charlieboy and best wishes for Friday when you get to celebrate 6 months gamble free.

I really love your down to earth approach to recovery and am always inspired by your positivity.

This may seem silly but I made a conscious decision not to keep track of how long I have been gamble free. It is a long time although not yet a year.

For some strange reason I have relapsed on several occasions upon reaching significant milestones in recovery. On one occasion I attended GA and was applauded for 90 days GF and the next day I gambled.

Very strange.

One day at a time seems to be working so will just have to stick with that.

Best wishes to everyone for a good gamble-free December.

Loving thoughts to absent friends.

Doesn't sound strange at all I think as gamblers we become very fixated on numbers, odds, numbers of spins etc and as such it's a good idea not to become fixated on get another number. Also as gamblers we tend to reward ourselves with gambling , I've had a hard day I'll have a bet, he's been mean I'll have £20 on slots !! So it's no surprise that you rewarded yourself for being gamble free ....by gambling. Us human beings are funny creatures and sometimes it's like we are programmed with a default setting. Our default setting has been gambling and now finally we are rebooting our systems !!

Thank you Charlieboy.

The addiction always messed up my thinking but hopefully them days are in the past.

Definitely feeling very positive about recovery and have no desire to gamble. Hoping that my time has come to be finally finished with all that foolishness.

Best wishes.

Twas lost confused and ill at ease

All alone and on my knees

Cheeks all stained - glistening tears

Tormented soul beset by fears

Taunting jeers from family dears

But now arm-in-arm with gamcare peers

Hope everyone is having a good gamble free Thursday.

Thank you Sandra for being so kind. Your compassion, understanding and willingness to support others makes me proud to call you my friend.

My poem was a tale of my recovery from being traumatised by gambling addiction and scorned by family and friends to being here in the gamcare sanctuary surrounded by people who offer me support and encouragement.

I like to make my posts rhyme for some strange reason but it is a harmless pastime so I go along with it ???.

Wishing you a peaceful and contented weekend.

Thank you Lou Lou for those kind words.

I am feeling confident now about recovery, having gone several months without gambling and feel my success is all because of the wonderful support I have been given by gamcare friends like yourself.

I don't know what the future holds for me but whatever I do and wherever I go, there will always be a place in my heart with Lou Lou written on it.

Take good care of yourself dear friend.

I feel sure that happiness will come your way because you are such a wonderful lady and deserve to be happy and contented.

Love and best wishes from Stephen x x x
