A beautiful day in sunny Hull.

I was walking along the promenade earlier whilst enjoying an ice cream. It is 30 degrees in the shade and glorious sunshine so was looking good in my Shorts and Hawaiian Shirt. I waved back to several young ladies in bikinis who had said hello as they sauntered past.

Anyway, the alarm went off  so dragged myself out of bed, got a coffee and looked out of my 12th floor balcony window at pedestrians scurrying along in the wind and the rain. Great view of the river through and it might clear up later.

Love and best wishes gamcare friends.

Thank you for visiting my diary Scotty. Trust you are having a good weekend.

Hello Diary.

It has been an interesting day for me. Enjoyed my walk and the hungry ducks in the old dock were pleased to get their oats. No ducks in the marina which might be due to the fact that it has been polluted lately.

Bumped into an acquaintance on my walk so had a nice socially distanced chat.

It was awesome on the pier with a very strong wind and a bit of spray blowing in my face. It brought back memories of my bridge watches when I was in the Merchant Navy.

Chatted to a father and his 15 year old son who were fishing. I was pleased they never caught any but sad because I think the fish stocks on the river are depleted. There should be loads because it is the time of year when they swim upriver to spawn. The fishermen always claim there are loads of fish both in the river and in the North Sea!!!!!!!

I don't like to force my views on others but felt sad for the future if the 15 year old as the oceans are being overfished whilst millions of tons of plastic are dumped in the worlds seas every year. By the waterfront I always sea empty bottles, food cartons etc which always ends up in the river and plastic never disappears, it just gets smaller and smaller. I wondered what the young man's world would be like in fifty years time.

Wishing gamcare friends a good nights sleep with pleasant dreams.

Gamcare friends get ready for bed cos Saturdays nearly done

Been a lot of rain around with very little sun

But in our hearts there is a glow for we are gamble free

And we all know without a doubt that is the way to be

Nite nite

Sweet dreams

Thank you too Lou Lou.

Great to see that you are 38 days away from your last gamble. I think the first 40 days are the hardest.

Hello Diary.

Just got home from a lovely walk around the marina and waterfront.

Strong winds made it feel cold but very invigorating. It was high water and the waves looked magical.

Four ducks in the old dock seemed hungry and soon ate the oats I threw them whilst the ducks in the Marina were not particularly interested. I assumed people on the yachts had been feeding them or maybe they are dieting ???.

Hope everyone enjoys a calm and pleasant Sunday evening.

Love and best wishes.

Hello my dear Aum,

I hope you are keeping well and I see despite the cold, wet weather you are still embracing nature in your walks and visiting your friends, the ducks. I hope life is treating you well and that you are still reaping all the benefits of a gf life.

I hope to catch you in peeraid one day very soon if I can skive from work to pop in.

You're often in my thoughts even though I don’t pop by much these days.

I hope you’re still eating like a king and staying warm like a bug in a rug ?. How a year on things can be so different. Keep up all the hard work!

Your friend

lively ❤️

Many thanks Lively & Stace for visiting my diary. It was lovely seeing you both in the chatroom yesterday.

It has been a wonderful day here in Hull. I went for a nice walk and gave some oats to the ducks in the Marina and Old Dock.

From there went and got a coffee and sat looking out over the river. Just after 6pm a personal trainer turned up on the pier to give a lady a workout so I had a good dance to her music. It was great fun and they both joined me for a dance on the pier when they had finished the class.

It is the third time I have started dancing to her music and she seems perfectly happy with it. If I think she is not too keen than I will stop because I don't like to cause offence.

Mind you a lot of dog walkers, joggers and fisherman walked past and they all probably thought it was a big strange ???.

Wishing everyone a lovely evening followed by a nice relaxing sleep.

From.

Wet and windy here in Hull so put my wellies on

To take a walk to the river whilst singing a happy song

?‍♀️ ? ?‍♀️

Will smile and wave to the ducks who glisten in the rain

Wondering if they're quackers or have water on the brain!

???

For they never wear a raincoat - trousers or a sock

And all day long they paddle around in the waters of the dock

??????

Thank you for visiting my diary VV.

I have had a really good weekend with lots of walking down by the river.

Managed to visit the chatroom this evening for the last 15 minutes and it was really good.

Chatmod Keely was simply wonderful and the guests were lovely. The only thing missing, which would have made it perfect was the one and only, stupendously scintillating Vimto Vinnie.

Night night everyone

Sweet dreams

Here on planet gamcare a brand new day has dawned

Jumped outta bed with a beaming smile

Scratched my head and yawned

No more giving hard earned cash to the wealthy bookies

Here I sit with smiling face

Coffee and some cookies

And though there may be sadness

Or even an occasional tear

Supported by my gamcare friends

Than I have nothing to fear
