Thank you for posting Scotty. You are very kind and thoughtful.

The results of my shoulder x ray are now at the surgery but I have to ring again tomorrow to find out what the doctor has written on them.

Have a telephone appointment next Monday with the doctor so maybe get some advice than.

I am on the highest dose of co codamol but still very painful.

Tried the hot water bottle for a week a month ago but that just made it worse but can maybe try it again.

I too hope our friends are ok. It is worrying when someone doesn't post on their diary for a while.

Take good care of yourself Scotty.

Stephen

Hi Aum,

I thought it was about time I popped by the diaries and said hello to you and Scotty and to see how you both are. Sorry I haven’t been around much lately - I decided to step back from the site for a while as I felt it was doing more harm than good but just wanted to let you know, you’re often in my thoughts. I’ve just read through all of your diary and love all of your poems - as always they made me smile. I’m so pleased to read all of your recent outings and how you’re filling your time.

I believe we have both surpassed seven months, my friend - what a huge achievement and who would have thought it this time last year.

Work has been mental recently with no sign of quietening down - in fact I only got off the computer at 12am ?‍♀️ And then came here for some pre-sleep Reading to unwind. Another reason why I haven’t been on the forum much lately.

Just wanted to say I’m super proud of how far you’ve come, Stephen!

I am sure Vinnie will be popping by the diaries very shortly to say hello and popping into peeraid very soon as she currently has no internet but fingers crossed it will be on any day. ?Everyone needs a Vinnie in their life. (Or at least I do lol - the evenings are far too quiet) ?.

Anyway, I’m going to wish you a wonderful week and I will try and pop in one of the peeraid chats very soon to catch up with you and scotty.

Bye for now,

Lively x

Thank you for visiting my diary Vinnie.

I am so happy that you are happily settled into your new home.

Sorry to friends that I left the chatroom hastily this morning but the physio rang with regard to my frozen shoulder.

After discussing it he offered me a cortisone injection for tomorrow and even sent a text confirming it but than he realised I was in a high risk category (Covid) because of my age and lung damage and he cancelled the injection.

Lively my dear friend ?‍♀️ . I was over the moon receiving your post on my diary and than meeting up with you and friends in the chatroom.

Will post on your diary tonight or tomorrow with greetings and perchance a little rhyme ??.

Not feeling too happy at the moment with my frozen shoulder and than to be offered a cortisone injection for tomorrow and have it cancelled two minutes later has knocked the stuffing out of me a bit?.

Think I will go and share my woes with the ducks in the marina. I read somewhere that they like oats so have been taking them some and they love it

A sad old day for sorry Aum

Off to the waterfront I will roam

To look at waves neath cloudy skies

And wipe away tears that spring from the eyes.

Just re-read the above post which I wrote earlier today after a telephone call from the physio and feel totally ashamed of myself.

Friends on the diaries show great courage and integrity facing up to monumental challenges whilst I was sat feeling sorry for myself just because the physio will not inject cortisone into my frozen shoulder.

Hello Diary.

I am no longer stressed about my shoulder but will have to ring the doctors tomorrow for some clarification because the physio said I could not have the injection due to being listed as high risk on my medical records ( I have copd/emphysema ). However, the group practice has arranged for me to have a flu jab next Tuesday at a different surgery.

How crazy is that!

Confused Aum   Aum   Aum

The ducks think its quackers ?????

Beautiful sunny day so enjoyed a pleasant walk by the river and walked around the Marina and another old dock which has a shopping centre on stilts in it.

Only saw one duck so gave it some oats which it wolfed down like there was no tomorrow. Apparently oats are good for them and they really like it. I also read that they like finely chopped lettuce but the duck I saw was not interested in the lettuce I gave it.

Bumped into an acquaintance I hadn't seen for some time so we had a little chat. Thought of going for a coffee together but both of us are over 60 and wary of being exposed to the virus.

I felt sorry for the lady because I could see she would have liked to throw her arms around me for a big hug but she hid her disappointment well ???.

Once again a glorious day here in sunny Hull

Fruit with porridge and coffee has made my tummy full

With smiling face I soon will go exploring this fine city

Will pass a dome on a building old which looks like a real big

Titillating ducks will make me laugh and smile

Shall feed them with some tasty oats and linger for a while

Watch them paddle around the dock with nonchalance and ease

They dont need to find a loo when they go for pees

The moral of this story is life can a laugh

Adventures fun and laughter or coffee in a cafe

Spending wages wisely can give us lots of pleasure

So dont feed scavenging bookies who want our hard earned treasure

Gamble free me is ready to rock

Will go walking soon though its raining and dull

Which is a surprise in sweet sunny Hull

But life can be fun whatever the weather

Smiling gamcare friends recovering together

Telephone appointment with doctor this fine morning

Been several months with shoulder pain crying out and groaning

X ray results show wear and tear but nothing else it seems

Is causing me to wake at night and causing me bad dreams

Physio would like to inject with some cortisone

But doctor said its best to leave it all alone

Due to wonky heartbeat and bronchial devastation

Caused by years of smoking and polluted inhalation

Co codamol for pain and peas straight out the freezer

Hoping Holland and Barrett can mend this sad old geyser

Chondroitin ? Glucosamine ? Turmeric all seem very healthy

They will restore my working joints to make me supple and stealthy

So sorry Scotty. It must be agony for you with the cartilage worn away. I hope you get a new knee soon.

The ducks in the marina enjoyed the oats I gave them. The ducks in the old dock (with a shopping centre in it) are wary though and paddle away when I throw oats in the water. I don't know why because the ducks in the marina can't eat it fast enough ?.

Thank you for the kind remarks regarding my shoulder. I do believe it will improve over time. Am sticking with the frozen peas because when I tried the hot water bottle it seemed to get worse.

Visited The Deep (Hull's Aquarium) today. A friend of mine was one of the guides on duty so we had a real good catch up and she told me all about the fish and the work of the aquarium. It was fascinating. Had a lot of fun and it got me thinking about a few things.

@aum - I am sorry I have cut down so much on this forum, I feel I have lost all track and to be honest can't even figure out fully if this is best place to post this.  However You have commented and supported via my diary on many occasions and it honestly means so much, I'm just sorry I don't reciprocate, I hope one day soon to be in a place mentally where I can invest more time here and more time catching up with individuals.  My best wishes to you for now and thank you once again for your continued support, I am truly indebted to you

best wishes

Dan
