Hi Ade. Still plugging away! Still feeling positive considering I've had a bit of a stressful couple of days. Usually I would stupidly attempt to alleviate any stress with a gamble (the fantasy world of gambling would distract me from the real world, something I need to learn to overcome still!) but I've managed to stay away and feel good about that achievement! Another jam packed weekend ahead so no time for me to think about gambling!

Enjoy your weekend!

Rob

Well done Rob. Keep plugging away my friend.

We both now know that gambling isn't the answer to relieving our daily stresses. If anything it just compounds the stress and makes us 10 times worse!

Be proud of yourself and enjoy your jam packed weekend

All the best

Ade

Hey Ade. Had a busy weekend again so been finding it hard to get on here. Thanks for the bump up to page 1!

felt really stressed out over the last few days but not sure if it's because the distraction of betting has now gone. I've not felt the need to have a bet, but the thought of betting in General is always lingering in the back of my mind. I think I'm getting to a stage where withdrawal symptoms may be starting to kick in. It's ok though as I know my own signs now. Stress, tiredness, anger frustration, depression anxiety are many of the things that start to gradually creep up on me but I have found that if I remember why I feel like that it's because the addiction is calling out to be fed.

Well that's not happening. I know there is a place I will get to where these feelings will be associated with real life, be less intense and have no association with gambling! Looking forward to next week, gamble free still!

Great post Rob.

I can relate to a lot of your feelings, and it's great to see that you are fully aware of the possible negative signs that can occur during these initial recovery stages. I can feel your strength and determination coming through.

Keep it going my friend

All the best

Thanks Ade. Been a busy couple of days at work and home but still no gambling!

had a trip out in the car earlier to the shop just to pick up some bits. Had a funny thought about when I used to buy scratch cards with whatever I was buying. The stupid thing about it was that I would invariably win nothing or a small amount that would be instantly reinvested in to gambling either by more scratch cards or the winnings in the bookies. Never again. What's the point!! It just reaffirms my feelings of What's the point of betting full stop. I'm happy again this week and over my stresses of the past few days. Onwards and upwards!

Cheers Ade. Nice to end another week gamble free. Got a Christmas do to attend tomorrow night. Another hurdle to overcome tomorrow as a few drinks would often lead to the night finishing at the casino. Not tomorrow. I've got my sights set on a good evening and home!!

have a good gamble free weekend. Enjoy the decent sport on tele for what it was always intended for. To entertain, not bet.

Hi Ade. All ok this end thanks. Finished work for Christmas and still haven't been sucked in to any gambling establishments. I don't even feel any sort of urge to attend a bookies anymore!! It's actually really amazing and I feel my focus for work has returned! Hope all is well your end. Not much time this week for a full update but will add one this weekend
