Going to start another recovery diary. The gambling habit has creeped back into my life. No money lost over the last few weeks but stakes were getting higher and higher and was back in full gambling mode.
Been in Group Chat a few times recently but will try attend more, as well as update this diary. Both have helped in the past.
My gambling urges seem to be related to shopping now. Every few weeks I want some new piece of tech and justify gambling in order to win enough to buy the item. I do not really want or need the item.
Hello again @alwalm, and thanks for the kind messages @magnetism and @dave101.
Been keeping really busy. The only way I can stop myself from thinking of gambling, particularly when I have a few pennies spare to buy something with.
I was away camping for 2 whole days and thought I lost one of my small dry bags which happened to have a few expensive items in it. I had pretty much decided if it was lost that I would go gambling to win the amount I needed to cover the loss. Such a stupid thought. Anyway, I found the dry sack and need another excuse to gamble.
I have failed again. The end to another recovery attempt.
I have not been doing enough to stop gambling, keep busy and I got complacent. I have no routine at the moment, too much free time, actually maybe not too much, I just need something else to focus on.
I wish I had a gym nearby. Working from home means I need to commute 20 miles to go to a gym.
Anyway, gambling was out of control again. I could easily have lost all my savings and my work contract may end next month. Easily could have got into a real mess.
Going to get speaking with Gamcare again and try some new things.
Working can home can be a double edged sword. You have so many temptations. You can go on youtube, social media whenever you want or decide to gamble with the free time.
I understand you need change. Perhaps, have a routine of working out every morning with some home bought gym equipment? I would also recommend you to do the gamcare course in this website. very helpful 🙂
