Having a much better day today, and I managed to keep my self busy enough yesterday, I even had an early night because the urge was getting to me!! I left my phone down stairs and went up to bed and put a film on. I’m so proud I managed to do it. Today I’ve not even wanted to gamble. I also feel happy waking up because I know if I had of given in last night I could be spending the day trying to sort my finances out again and panicking. So it’s so nice to not have that stress!

Well done! I am also on day 10. Trying to sort out the backlash of my last losses and I am beyond stressed I feel ill. I will never lose this particular down as even though it wasn’t my biggest loss it was the straw that broke the camels back. When you have the urge remember the utter feeling of hopelessness you get with gambling. I am thankful in a way for the distress, as I never ever want to stoop to these lows again! Revel and enjoy the feeling that you have woken up without the stress and keep pushing on. Well done again, everyday free is something to celebrate

Hi Miss D and Liveinhope 🙂

I think we reach a point or sink to a level where finally and hopefully " enough is enough " although it took many years for me to reach mine .

Dealing with the aftermath of whatever our last binge was is a monumental task and I remember being quite overwhelmed by the work I had to put in to resolve many issues .

That in my opinion is where the " One day at a time " approach comes in and " Taking baby steps " in order to regain some clarity , quite simply just deal with what's in front of you on any given day and in the priority that's important to yourselves , then slowly  everything begins to click into place :).

Congratulation's to you both on holding firm , It does get easier but like our gambling career's " Doesn't happen overnight " .

Wishing you both well 🙂

Thank you Alan. You are so right, it is one day at a time. Today I walked back to work from the shops and felt crushing annoyance again at what I’ve done, but then I said to myself, today I will not gamble. Wishing everyone all the Luck and positivity in the world

Well done. I'm finding staying busy is helping me a lot.instead of making a cuppa and turning on the racing as soon as I come in from work,I'm cutting the grass or cleaning out the car to distract my self.just started a box set on tv which will hopefully be more addictive than gambling so after 3 days of not gambling,(longest time ever)starting to feel much better. Biggest test will be Friday when I get paid as I usually head straight to the bookies.
