Hi there :))

There was a time that I couldn't have gone 4 hours without a bet nor 4 minute's without thinking about placing a bet if I'm honest , so here I am writing to you as 4 years without a gamble fast approaches thanks mainly to this wonderful place .

I don't think there's any real secret to stopping it's just about accepting the losses and letting go of what's going to hold you down for the rest of your life if you don't ? .

Sound's easy as I put it like that but I know it's far from easy to let go of something that's played such a huge part of your life for so long , initially I just took it one minute , one hour and one day at a time , I pushed through and fought off every urge that came my way and by any means possible and by that I mean going for walk for miles with no money or cards with me , stupid thing's like getting on an exercise bike and pedaling frantically till I stopped thinking about the urge to gamble and even going for a cold shower to bring me to my senses if that's what it took , giving up gambling just like any other substance abuse comes with very real withdrawl symptoms and you do have to fight them .

With time these will become less and less and get far easier to dismiss , those minutes , hours and day's soon form weeks and months and years and I wish I could send you the feelings I now get and the one's you'll feel if you stick with the plan and see it through as it's truly wonderfull :)).

All the best for now
