Day 30 today!!

This time 30 days ago I was starting my official day 1, not once did I think I would ever reach this milestone. 12 years of solid gambling and at the end of despair of constantly chasing my losses.

Enough was enough, I had to self exclude and stick to it not just a silly few days to tie me over till payday, but full stop. One of the sites pointed me in this direction, these  sites that lure us in on the false promises of bonuses that wagering requirements leave us with zilch after they are met and making us hungry for bigger wins, that's when the deposits start and never stop until you hit rock bottom.

Anyhow, I have to be thankful for this one particular site for directing me to this page, what can I say its been the best thing to happen to me! I immediately joined, read the forums and knew I wanted to achieve the same and that I would beat this horrible addiction. I put all blocks in place with gamstop, gamban and blocking transactions with my bank. I joined in the evening chat the following day as I had only joined late the previous night, something I have noticed looking at the join dates and first posts from newbies, it seems a trend that its bedtime when we are all directed to this site because we have spent the evening gambling all our money and we are torturing ourselves and so mad that we are seeking help at these ungodly times.

The chat helps massively, it fills that time I would be usually sat on my phone gambling and the people are so welcoming and friendly and ever so helpful to everyone ?

Congratulations secret,

I'm currently 138 days gamble free, but the first month was the hardest it's gradually got easier as each month passes, I hope this will be the case for you.

Good luck.

Day 32, had a text this evening from a site trying to entice me in with free spins and other bonus... delete delete delete. Not on my watch.

I've not had any texts since I self excluded and its a pain the only way to unsubscribe is by logging in which I will not do.

I know what you mean secret, I still get them now after about a year, it is very annoying having to go on there bloody site to unsubscribe. My advice, just delete delete or block block the numbers if you can.

I am glad you are gamble free after a month so far, awesome!!!

Hello All

I wish to point out to anyone struggling with adverts/emails etc that come through, enticing you to gamble - these can be very triggering!

Please call an Adviser on the Helpline on 0800 8020 133 or using our Livechat option.  To discuss Blockig Software which will block everything from your devices.

We will be more than happy to talk you through what to do.

Best

Day 36.

Today is now my second payday since I started my journey and not one penny has gone to these online sites.

Usually paydays, the evening before I would be itching for the payment to drop in my account so I could start my continuous deposits in the hope of winning. It never even entered my head until I logged in just now and thought wow I've managed two paydays and still have my money. That is a very proud moment for me as I never thought in the past 12 years of gambling I could manage 1 payday let alone 2.

I've started to finally have the belief I can continue with my journey, luckily no urges, I did briefly think the other day when an unexpected bill came that a win would of solved it.. but let's be honest it doesn't it just put us behind on more bills and more debt.

Secretaddict, congratulations on the 2 payday gamble free.

I must say I have had those thoughts too when looking at bills and you did well to walk away from those thoughts. It’s not easy that’s for sure and a good distraction helps I have found.

Take it easy

Thank you Dave,  I suppose its drilled in us to think like that because that's what we have spent our lives doing trying for a win to pay bills because we gave initially lost our bill money in the first place.

Hope your doing well too

Its officially day 40, 40 full days without a single gamble.

I'm keeping myself busy with other things and spending time with family.  I deleted all the games I had on my mobile phone at the start too specially the ones that give options to buy coins or boxes ect to progress to further levels. In the past when playing them I would rack up costs, I believe it gives the same fix ?  as it did playing for real money. Sounds so sad but just shows the extent of my problem I had. Spending real money on pretend money, who actually does that lol

Well anyhow I feel sooo good I've reached 40 day gamble free. ???
