I have just listen to Russel Brands podcast with Dr  Anna Lembke. This is so important to know how your dopamine works in addiction that I can only recommend you to listen to the podcast.

Finding out that pain and pleasure is like a seesaw was well explained and does show you clearly why you should stop and change what you do.

Best

You just need to check my records here and you will know that I have had problems with gambling addiction. Could have written that differently and my apologies for that.

Here is one for you.  Cold showers.

I just finished her book. One way of releasing dopamine to feel better is having cold showers. The pain or discomfort of iced water on yourself releases dopamine that makes you feel good afterwards for hours apparently. I have no idea if it works on everyone but I will give it a go next time and tell you what results I get from it.  And I hate cold water so I am not looking forward but hey what don´t you do in the name of discovery and science?

Best

Hi c43h,

After having a 5min cold shower everyday for the last couple of years I would say it definitely makes you feel great.

Good luck with starting out with it!

Kind regards
