A fresh start ...

Theirs a quietness that comes from not gambling and it’s the best feeling ever … 

a lot of things become clear, it’s not easy at the start , as u start fighting with your own thoughts and demons ! But once ur life starts to get back on track and you can sit with your own thoughts theirs a peace that comes with it , some relationships have survived others have not as Im changing and blossoming with everything life throws at me I can finally say I’m happy with my past and who I am now it took losing myself in gambling and hitting rock bottom to see my worth. 

Had a tough week last week , but pulled threw it and had the best week ever with darkness allways comes light , my lads are happy and healthy I’m back on track upped my weights and had the best workout ever with that workout after glow so thought I’d come and update , hope everyone is doing well ?

Morning diary , 

haven’t posted in a while been very busy decorating and redecorating, I’m now onto wrapping the kitchen it’s a lot harder then I thought so just doing a-bit at a time but house will be finally complete after till I get the next bright idea to get get the paint out , gambling thoughts haven’t crossed my mind in a very long time even with the thought of flooring to get I am slowing saving to get it , sons home from uni this week so spending some quality time together, hope everyone is doing well ?

Vinnie you are a star. Recovery has been a big challenge but you have come through it unscathed and are now almost 700 days gamble-free.

I imagine your boys are very proud of what you have achieved and will be greatly relieved to have their wonderful mum back.

You were drawn in by that horrible addiction but you were ready to do battle and have proved yourself to be a lady of integrity with the courage and will to turn your life around.

Your success is inspiring and you are deserving of respect and congratulations.

hello diary , glad to see the back of last week a lot happened but learning to not give it a reaction , had my assessment for counselling got someone ringing me in the morning to tell me how long the wait is , yesterday I stopped smoking went to a friends for dinner and mentioned it next thing we’re in town getting a vape so today will be my first full day without a cigarette , ?

You are strong minded lady with the heart of a lioness who never ceases to shine.

I stopped the ciggies 20 years ago and know only too well how it feels.

Delighted you popped in tonight , what a breath of fresh air. I've looked at your diary before , struggles , despair , loss of hope. I see you now as a fantastic parent with clear views , (nervous anticipation naturally) , but a new dawn & sense of hope back. I know the boy that's made you proud will also have a sense of pride in seeing you bounce back from the dark days to returning to the real you & the fantastic parent you are.  Is the struggle over ? , IF ONLY . 

My grandson's just started University in September . I can't hide my joy & excitement watching his progress  , for sure the best distraction ever from this awful addiction. This is our opportunity , to prove we've changed & ( although not cured ) & demonstrating that taking care of our own will never again  take 2nd place to feeding our addiction. If ever there's doubt or you get tempted ask yourself this, how's things now ?, then look back & ask yourself which one do  you like best.

Thankyou for popping by my diary struggling alittle this morning with not smoking your messaged has cheered me up more than you no , 

watching your journey has been a inspiration you are a lovely young man with a heart of gold ?

I know how hard stopping smoking is..... All I needed to relax was the nicotine so I tried nicotine gum..... It really helped..... A tip is to buy it on new years day as it's usually half price..... Really relaxed me then I just slowly cut down on that.....now no gum or smoke in five years.... You will do it xxxx

Today marks two years since I found this site , 

two years ago my life was at Rock bottom  was on the verge of losing everything, it hasn’t been a easy road but boy it’s a road worth walking u just need to reach out and ask for that help to take the steps you need , Thankyou to everyone for supporting me and helping me walk this path , hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and here’s to a better year then the last ?
