Today is grand national day. My first time ever watching without a bet. I wasn’t a sports better. That wasn’t my thing. I was a slots girl. However once a year even before my problem gambling started I would bet on the national. Strangely it was an event I looked forward to all year and this year will be different. I won’t lie I feel a tinge of sadness but I think if I examine this it’s more wistful. What is it I will miss? The rush? The anxiety? No. This is my first test and I will not fail. Xx

@debsy371 This isn't difficult, just don't watch it. Go and do something else instead.

If you put too much pressure on yourself eventually you'll give. Take the pressure away and it'll be easier on you for today. Because it's today that counts, not yesterday or tomorrow, just today.

Chris.

Β

That is great advice, Chris.

Debsy, we are going to be tested and here's another such test.Β

Β

The way I see there is so much else going on in the world, what with Prince Phillip's passing, COVID and so much more that the Grand National is simply passing into insignificance.Β  No-one's talking about it.Β  It's not mentioned much. It will come and go.Β  We can safely simply ignore it. "Move on, nothing to see here!", as they say πŸ™‚

We don't really have to care about it.Β  And so, we will chalk off another gambling free day. Just for today. πŸ™‚

Hi debsy ive also watched and bet on the grand national every year for as long as i can remember it was something i did with my family as a kid so in a way it felt a bit sentimental. Like you i never had a problem on that..but i did find the casino sites through it one year after a bet.

Ive not watched it this year..or bet on it and this is the first year ive not heard or seen anything on social media from others about it. So that made it easier..i did have gamstop in place to prevent me from going near the sites.

At least its been and gone now for this year and we can focus on being financially 'stable'.

That Debsy joined the ranks

Of friends who now have seen the light

With money in their banks.Β

Wishing you a good week.

Thanks Lou and roch and aum. Always supportive. I agree lou the national was more a sentimental thing than a passion but one I’m pleased I didn’t partake in this year. 64 days done xx

Contented happy faces

Smiles on people's cheeks

Little birds all whistling

Through their teeny weeny beaks

Our world today inspires me

And I would like to praise

The courage of our Debsy

Gamble-free for 70 days.Β

Congratulations Debsy. 70 days is a solid two months plus where you have said no, no and thrice no to spending even 1p on this unnecessary habit.Β  We are all with you in celebrating this important milestone.Β  πŸ™‚Β Β
