Thank you bal, Lou and stephen xxx.

Horray wool wool, I've got here.... Really can't believe I've managed it, its taken a lot of hard word and patience but I'm soo proud.

Like bal said I started off here in 2015 clinging onto online poker, at that time there was no gamstop and you had to rely on exclusion which for me didn't work.... At that point most of my wage was being spent on it and I was deluded into thinking I could control it, I really couldn't.  At that point people on here were telling me to exclude which I sometimes did but opened up new accounts later....

Then I found pub poker which as it was for five pounds a game I thought was harmless enough.  I made a lot of friends through this but with my addictive personality I went four nights a week.  Now this didn't become a problem until I started playing the fruit machines each night.  This lasted a few years and it was groundhog day on the gamcare site of losing on fruit machines then going home writing on gamcare that I would quit then start again three days later and repeat the cycle.  I also played at casino thru this time for poker and always lost big those days.

My saviour was gamstop, and sense programs I signed up to both and excluded from local bookies which helped but I still could play pub poker and fruit machines which I went to regularly as I deluded myself that it was just small stakes and I could control it.

Then august 18 I spent three hundred on the fruit machine until I couldn't get anymore money from machine then this caused stress hardship and I became unwell as a result and had to have time off work.

I then stopped till my birthday in may when I went for pub poker for a treat and played and won and the beast of addiction returned along with fruit machines after another six months....

I lost only 136 pounds in 19 which was a great improvement but that was just luck and I knew deep down that stopping altogether was the best plan....  Then I lost 70 pounds in a bookie one afternoon that I was excluded from and was about to go again when I saw that post from Al and thought I want to have a happy christmas, a fresh start for the new year and make people\friends on here proud.

So I started being gamble free at a tough time being Christmas, I even went to the pub on Xmas eve which was soo hard, I watched a friend play the fruit machines and it was all I wanted to do!!! So in the pub I went on chat, it helped and I didn't gamble.  The next day I felt great that I succeeded and I started my journey there.

That Christmas and new years was great, I felt successful and worked on my stress levels and health by visiting the gym and health suite daily with my mum.

I got invited throughout the year to friends poker games and I've had to distance myself from them which has been hard but for the best.

Adverts are all over my media but I'm determined not to fail!!!

So here I am I've got here thru the support of the many on here and I like to think I've supported many on their journeys..... So if you're starting out and don't think u can do it read this and know you can!!!

Many thanks to all and gamcare for this site, and the mods for the support... Lots of love adamxxx

It seems right to start a new diary for 2021 and my quest for two years gamble free.  This diary has lived up to its tittle as I feel its been a really successful year...... Onwards I go to pastures new...  What shall I call my next diary? I think it needs 2021 in the title so I can follow on each year.... 2021 my amble towards the not gamble no beers but plenty of cheers One more year please?
