Jitters thats exactly how i described it earlier..horrible isnt it

Well done on your 2 days

Do you have all the blocks in place to help you ..it eases over time i still get them now and then but beginning of recovery is always the hardest

Hi jack! We must have given up at roughly the same time. I don’t have the jitters but this is my second attempt at stopping. Try the chat rooms and maybe give the gam change course a go. You are not alone

It will go away Jack, the longer you abstain, the more stronger and happier you will become. Within a month, you should be able to think clearer and life will be less chaotic.

If you really want to stop then put the blocks in place if not already done so.

the next challenge will be to find things to do to fill the void. What hobbies did you used to do before gambling? What did you enjoy and what made you happy before gambling?

i find exercise a big tool, both indoors and outside, gets the old endorphins going .

Gambling only offers a life of misery and we deserve better than that so best of luck in your endeavours.

Hi Jacko709 and Welcome.

Its a normal feeling in recovery because overall it was a drug addiction we had.

I hope you have built the counter force of blocks talking to people close and focusing on what gambling did to you.

I craved something that was costing me my dignity, my self respect, my relationships and my life....not to mention the large amount of money that I needed to survive on.

I hope you have talked to your family or close friends. Please dont sit alone thinking you can handle it alone because that makes it so much harder. Keep using the forum and focus that your recovery journey is really worth it.

You dont need gambling in your life. You are better than that. These are false feelings you have now due the the cravings an addict develops in their bones. Consider it as a drug addiction and it makes more  sense.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum

Hang in there pal. I’ve done a week after losing a considerable amount money last week. The stress and anxiety as been horrendous and last mon was at a all time low. Been gambling 20 years and still yet to conquer my demons
