Today I stepped back from the abyss.

Last night after a month of out of control drinking and gambling I decided to try again and stop this madness which is killing me. I have seriously considered the end but I know how that impacts on your family. I don't want to leave behind a trail of misery which no one deserves. After making the decision to stop I do feel a huge burden has been lifted from my shoulders. This morning, tail between my legs, I walked into c****s and self-excluded. No more FOBTS at least in this city. I also ordered the excellent 'overcoming problem gambling' book online and that will be coming through my door in the next few days. The last time I read that I didn't gamble for 5 months. I'll just keep buying gambling and addiction books to constantly remind me how futile gambling is and how it impacts your life. I'll start using the group chat on here, maybe that will help me? I've already registered with Gamban and self-excluded from other shops where I live.

So it's day 1 again.

Well done.

Walking in there and self-excluding was very brave and extremely wise, so it's already a triple win for you - for your decision-making, for your courage and for your financial future.

I am so very glad you are staying on here, you give such good support to others and you are an asset to the site.

Onwards and upwards now!

Thanks for the support.

Yes it's time to get help and address the reasons why I relapsed. I'll get on the netline and see what support they can offer.
