Hi, my name is David and I am a gambling addict.

I have recently come back home from treatment costing close to £40,000.00.

I have been dying to bet for a long time now and have just relapsed. I borrowed the money at a ridiculous interest rate and cannot afford to pay it back. I had self excluded from all betting sites but have found a site that would take bets from me. I have just lost £300 with them and am terrified.

I have people asking for there money back now.

I feel so ashamed for relapsing.

I am posting to ask if they would give that money back that I depositted and close the account permanently. Does anyone know?

David

Hi David... the money is gone. It ain't coming back.

Have you signed up to gamstop?... it makes it much harder to gamble online. It saves the need to exclude from each site individually. Cos as you suggest. there is always another site.

I can appreciate how rubbish you must be feeling.

Iv'e been living on a very small amount of money for several weeks now. Its surprising how little money we actually "need" to get by.

Whats done is done. be good to yourself by not making your situation worse.

All the best. Your ok

Hi, yeah I am signed up to gamstop and they still let me place bets with them. I’m 4 months into a 5 year self exclusion with gamstop.

Mate, first thing to do is forget about the money you've lost. Thats gone and there is no point in trying to think of ways to get it back because it is not happening. I am in a similar position to you regarding the gam stop. I registered last xmas day after losing all my wages because I was "bored".

I too recently found a website that would take a bet from me and I have very recently lost £1200 in the space of 30 minutes on slots. I'm not proud and like you I'm ashamed of relapsing. Look forward to tomorrow. Its a new day and a fresh start. Confide in family and friends if you can. Just talking about things can make things so much better and takes a weight off your shoulders. Keep the head up mate.
