I'm up for it how about you ?. Just want to say that gambling addiction is vile, it brings back painful memories & reminds me of how ugly CGs are. I'm waiting for your comments.

it is very hard to see when you are gambling but when you stop it’s hard to think off any thing else to do did you get that feeling when you stop slow

Yes i did for 12 months after i stopped. I felt lost, worthless & so alone. I've lost count of how many walks I took my dog for a walk in order to resist the temptation of televised big horse racing meetings that were in my face Sometimes as I threw his ball I cried thinking of the destruction I'd inflicted on others with my addiction.

Reflection, taking time to see what I'd become & having to look in the mirror was the most bitter pill I've ever had to swallow. I still struggle to deal with that shame after more than 800 days. Even now for all i don't gamble I'm all screwed up & will probably never consider myself as NORMAL.

Lou One last shot at the jackpot. In 48 years it never came. Don't you become that naive .

Hope u all are okay..and good points about not gambling it's so easy to slip up but causes yearss of damage so far staying gamble free

I slipped up last week and gambled a small amount. Was devastated at first but pleased that I'd restrained myself. Fast forward to now and I've just had one of my worst gambling experiences and I wish I could simply disappear. keep well Lou. xx

Amba how many days were you before you gamble try not worry we all slip up but if you know what triggered it you can try to find other ways to deal with it I know that sounds easy but it can work it has taken me a long time to know what triggers me hope you can move on a not beat your self up to much put the blocks in place and always turn to gamcare if you need to  Scotty ❤️❤️

Feel like I'm drowning in difficult life circumstances and being "good" for several weeks made things so much worse. I was wrong when I thought I could do this my way, without blocks. I can't. Kindest regards to you Scotty.

Yes amba blocks are so important as when you get tempted or an urge their a safety net well done on stopping yourself this time though instead of carrying on xx

So sorry you keep inflicting this pain on yourself Amba. Hopefully you can find a way forward during this weeks counselling session. The only advice I would give is to be open and honest with your counsellor so that you can look for some positives to work on.

All I can think of to say al is that gambling is a legal vice, thru the years you gambled you didn't do anything wrong, it was marketed towards you like ciggerettes and alcohol and you done it as a socially acceptable vice.  You got addicted to it like people do to all vices and that's where your self hatred comes from as you had less money to help yourself as a result.  You haven't killed anyone or robbed anyone so your conscious should be clear.  The people in this case with the unclear conscious are the bookmakers but you could say that about the manufacturers of ciggerettes and alcohol they have no conscious.  To be clear the earth has many great things and many evils and most people try most things thru their lives, if we didn't make mistakes in life or not have these vices to chose in life then the earth would just be perfect and around a lot longer.  However humans have good and bad in them in equal measures and the good we create is equaled by the destruction we cause to this planet.  Don't be too hard on yourself al your actions werent bad.
