I took the advice way a lil late but i am going to apply it, i was paid just 2 days ago and already gambled 90% of it, but i’m going to get through this month with that 10%. 20 mins ago i felt broken, depressed, exhausted, you name it, but now, after the simple press of an opt out button, i feel motivated and ready to kick gamblings a**e. There’s been three relapses, that’s enough for me, there will be no fourth. Please help me have this gone forever, do Halifax bank block gambling transactions if it is requested? I may be 20, nearly 10k down for the year, feeling like beginning of my adult life from age 16 was robbed from me due to gambling, and in far too much debt i can handle, but the biggest problem will be removed. Thank u for all the comments and advice on my other post, it’s a shame i applied it a little late, but it wasn’t too late. It never is.

i hope i can learn how to use forums more because this platform is very important for me.

is gamstop a good feature? Please bear in mind i only gamble on one site and its only sportsbetting, never casino/slots/poker etc, i won’t be trying to get into some dodgy casino that isn’t on gamstop. Can the process of gamstop be explained for me please?

i am also trying to learn a new language by way of a distraction from gambling, i hope this helps me. Thank you all

Hi. At least your back and wanting too stop. From reading your story... your still very young. Im 40 and wished id taken the advice when i was your age but the past is the past. Im still young and take it day by day. Its a struggle most days but if i find a day too long i promise myself i wont gamble for that hpur amd that seems to get me through the day. Like i said the past is the past the money you have lost is irrelevant.  Its all in the mind now. Keep logging on and join the live forums and try and get to a GA meeting near you. Good luck.. Paul

Vlad Welcome.

When you are truly ready it will just seem right to do everything needed to block it.

Openness and honesty are the most important factors. You do need to tell someone close as you will find it more difficult with willpower alone. I would say willpower alone is not enough

You dont need gambling in your life. Its not entirely your fault as they provided the temptation and false advertising in my view.

However you must accept responsibility and turn your life around.

You MUST STOP GAMBLING so act now and start protecting yourself from the temptation.

Its up to you if you tell your bank. I would say its a matter of pride. There is no shame in admitting to a gambling addiction but you have to consider whether you want your bank to know...they can almost certainly see it anyway Vlad if you have gambling transactions on the account.

You need to be living on an allowance with your money safe....Can you do that? Its easy for a friend or relative to rapidly transfer money to you but you will need a new pride of accounting for all that money with receipts.

Gambling will ruin you! Gambling is killing you!! Focus on that and do the right thing.

I promise you Gamble free is a much much better life.

You have to make the right blocks. Gamstop is on the list once you have strong foundations in place

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
