First time post,,

So today was supposed to be the first meet up with the gamcare advisor,, drove to the location but I was early so thought I'd go for a walk around the town,  yer not a good idear as I went straight to a betting shop, once there I lost track ov time, missed the appointment, lost the money I had, n went home feeling soo bloody guilty,

I literally have no will power,, I know I shouldn't gamble and I want to stop but I still do it,,,,

Then the guilt, the shame, the anger at myself comes n I feel sick,, physically sick!!!!

What's bloody wrong with me..

Impulse control disorder. You need some help so attend a few sessions. If you can get help with someone holding your economy then ask them till you have better control. It does get better but not till you get help for it.

I don't know if you have done already but pick up the phone and call them and explain. Yours won't be the only missed appointment they have ever had.

Maybe you should self exclude from the shop that's near the counselling place?

All I know that's worked for me is when I mess up during recovery I look back at how I did it and then fix all the gaps in my barriers.

Oooo another one. You dont need money for counselling so dont take any next time.

Be well and dont worry. You can get better.

You are not alone i constantly tell myself I won't gamble then do and can relate to how you feel.

I self excluded myself from local bookies which has helped.

I'm sure you can rearrange your appointment.

I'm starting councelling next week

Hi,

find your local Gamblers anonymous group. Attend the meeting they are great, you might feel scared at the start but everyone there is in the same shoes as you. I am 211 day gamble free and started with 20k debt, i still have a long way to go, but make sure your family are aware - mum bro/sis partner, that was the hardest part for me but it saved my life. They no control my money whilst I pay debts off. I live of £15 a week and that’s hard but it has to be done because I put my self in this mess. Have barriers in place, I banned my self from casinos and online. I go gym regularly which is healthy for the mind.

Stay strong! You can change if you really really want to l!
