Hi  all,

I have decided to join Gamcare due to the feeling of being out of control when it comes to my gambling. I previously attended a GA meeting a few years ago and seemed to have my problem under control, however, i have relapsed this past year. I have been reading the forum threads for a few days and realise what a fantastic supportive community this is so decided to join. My problem is not online but the FOBT. I can easily spend hundreds with the blink of an eye. I have to much to loose and everything to gain so my journey begins. 9 days GF.

Hello Andy and well done on your 9 days gamble free.

If you have attended GA then you know the score. Its an emotional problem. Once in action your not able to control yourself (nor am I).... the only solution is not to play. Full stop.

Fobt's are particularly cruel. Self exclusions if not already done.

Hi S.A

Thanks for your reply. I agree that FOBT are the devil!

I haven't gone down the line of self exclusion for 1 reason, i never want to step foot in a bookies again. I feel that if i go in to self exclude i will be tempted.  I am going strong and now 2 weeks to the day since i last gambled.

I am going to beat this 🙂

Just a quick update.

I am now 22 days GF.

I think the penny has finally dropped and i have seen the destruction this has caused to me and many others.

I check the forum daily, which keeps giving me the motivation i need to carry on.

Thanks for all the help.

Cheers

Andy
