This is my third, maybe fourth visit here as a user rather than a supporter.

I don't have the energy to write a long informative thread, I've been there and done that.

Slowly but surely, slid back into fruit machines. No huge losses, just lots and lots of little ones. Found myself in a position where I have once again lied to my wife about the bills being paid this month.  Had a lucky touch at work the other day that would have helped me out an awful lot and I've spent it before it's even paid into my bank.

I am a total lost cause. It's taken 36 years (37 on Sunday) to see it.  I just don't see a way back now.  This isn't tens of thousand pounds of debt, but it's a slow steady decline in losing almost every penny I earn in the pub.  No debt (few hundred quid, maybe) but no pension, no savings, no assets and no future.

Sorry for the negative stuff but for the first time in my life I am considering whether my family are better off without me, I suspect so.

Dear kevz123

We're sorry that your gambling is still causing so much pain. Thank you for coming back to the forum and sharing your story though. That can be the first step towards healing and recovery.

It is quite worrying that you are having thoughts about your family being better off without you. If you'd like to talk about it, you can give us a call on 0808 8020 133 or chat to us 1:1 on the NetLine. We're here 8am til midnight. You can also talk to the Samaritans who are open 24/7 at 116 123.

Keep posting,

Forum Admin.
